College football star Ashton Jeanty talks possibility of Deion Sanders coaching Cowboys
College football star Ashton Jeanty is likely to be the first running back taken in the upcoming NFL Draft in the spring.
Where Jeanty lands will be the big question. Some mock drafts have predicted the running back going to the Dallas Cowboys, which he said earlier this month would be a dream come true for him, as he played high school football in Frisco, Texas.
The Cowboys have been in the spotlight over the last week after parting ways with Mike McCarthy as head coach and rumors have swirled about the possibility of Deion Sanders leaving Colorado to lead Dallas.

Jeanty remarked to Fox News Digital about the possibility of playing for Sanders in Dallas.
"I think that would be a real great opportunity," Jeanty said. "Coach Prime is great at just giving guys opportunity and using them to the best of their abilities. Kind of like Travis Hunter playing both ways. Most coaches wouldn’t do that. I think he would excel at the position."
Jeanty, who spoke to Fox News Digital on behalf of his partnership with SAXX, also appreciated that Sanders was a "a man of faith."
"Obviously, I’m a man of faith. He’s a man of faith. Having my previous head coach be a man of faith is a great thing. Having a great relationship you can see he has with his guys off the field as he does on the field."
He told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth that he knows some of the Cowboys’ facilities firsthand.
DALLAS COWBOYS NEXT HEAD COACH ODDS: WHO WILL REPLACE MIKE MCCARTHY?
"I would love to play for the Cowboys," he told the station. "It’d be like a dream come true. Obviously, I used to play in their practice stadium, and all our home games in high school, even my freshman year when we came down here for the Frisco Bowl, we practiced there again.
"So, it would just feel like I’m at home, honestly. I ain’t going to say too much, but Dallas, they’ve always had a good running back, and when they’ve got a good running back, they play a lot better."
Dallas may be the lone team that could take a running back early in the first round if Jeanty isn’t selected by the time the No. 12 pick rolls around.
Jeanty was the Heisman Trophy runner-up to Hunter in his final season in the collegiate ranks. He rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Broncos.
Boise State made the College Football Playoff but were ousted in the quarterfinals.

Coco Gauff pays tribute to TikTok at Australian Open, sees silver lining
Coco Gauff celebrated her Australian Open victory over Belinda Bencic with a nod to TikTok as the popular app was made unavailable for Americans back home.
Gauff wrote on a camera lens "RIP TikTok USA" with a broken heart after defeating Bencic, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to move to the quarterfinals of the first Grand Slam event of the season. Gauff had more than 750,000 followers before the app was cut off.

"I could not access it after my match. I honestly thought I would be able to get away with it because I was in Australia," she told reporters after the match, via ESPN. "Hopefully it comes back.... It's really sad. I've been on the app since it was called Musical.ly.
"I love TikTok. It's like an escape. I honestly do that before matches. I guess it will force me to read books more – be more of a productive human, probably. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise."
TikTok was officially made unavailable to American users late Saturday night. Anyone with the app was hit with a message that read, "Sorry, TikTok isn’t available right now.
"A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now.
"We are fortunate President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!"
On the eve of his inauguration, President-elect Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday that he would sign an executive order to extend the time for when the ban goes into effect.
"I’m asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security," he wrote. "The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order.
"Americans deserve to see our exciting Inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and conversations."
Trump added that he wanted the U.S. to have a "50% ownership position in a joint venture."

NFL refs under fire over questionable calls in Chiefs' playoff win over Texans
Officials in the Kansas City Chiefs AFC divisional round win over the Houston Texans on Saturday night came under scrutiny over questionable calls throughout the game.
From ESPN broadcaster Troy Aikman to Texans players after the game to social media, officials were getting lit up from all angles.
There were two penalties called on the Texans that drew ire.

Houston edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. was called for roughing the passer on a third down in the first quarter. Anderson appeared to push Mahomes in the chest after he had thrown the ball incomplete to tight end Travis Kelce. Anderson was flagged.
The second penalty came during a Mahomes scramble in the third quarter. He had two blockers on a run and three defenders bearing down on him. He moved to his right and then back to his left when he decided to slide.
Texans linebacker Henry To’oTo’o hit Mahomes around the neck as he slid. Despite the bang-bang nature of the play, To’oTo’o was called for unnecessary roughness.
The first penalty extended the drive and it ended with a field goal. The second penalty pushed Kansas City up the field and the drive ended with a touchdown.

The Chiefs won the game, 23-14.
Aikman ripped the penalty on To’oTo’o.
"Oh, come on," the Dallas Cowboys great said. "I mean, he’s a runner. I could not disagree with that one more He barely gets hit. That’s the second penalty now that’s been called against the Texans.…
"They’ve gotta address it in the offseason. You can’t, as a quarterback, run around and play games with defenders and then be able to draw a penalty."
He was not the only one who thought the officials made a mistake.
Texans personnel spoke out about it after the game as well.
"We knew going into this game it was us versus everybody," Houton head coach DeMeco Ryans said, via KPRC-TV. "When I say everybody, it’s everybody. All of the whatever… The naysayers, the doubt right. Everybody we had to go against today. Knowing that going into this game, knowing what we were up against, we can’t make the mistakes that we made."
Anderson said the team knew it was going to be "us versus the refs."
Texans running back Joe Mixon was also peeved.
"Everybody know how it is, playing up here, you can never leave it into the refs’ hands," Mixon said. "But I mean the whole world see what it is, bro. It is what it is."
Head referee Clay Martin explained the calls to a pool reporter after the game.
He said the call on Anderson was a result from "forcible contact to the face mask area," which warranted the penalty flag. He said there was forcible contact to Mahomes’ "hairline" on the other unnecessary roughness call.
The Chiefs were able to keep Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud at bay the entire game. The Chiefs sacked Stroud eight times, including three from George Karlaftis.

Former tennis star Pam Shriver revealed Saturday she had Grand Slam trophies and her vehicle stolen after she evacuated her home due to the wildfires that have devastated Los Angeles.

"Right now in LA it’s tough to feel safe based on natural disasters, fires, crime," she said. "I spent the first 38 years in Baltimore. Since then, I spent 30 years here. I’m thinking about what’s my next community where I’m gonna feel safe."
Shriver explained to KTLA on Friday she was trying to get back into a "normal routine" when she noticed her Dodge Durango was missing.
She said the trophies happened to be in the back of the SUV.

"For people who are doing this, like come on man," she told the station. "We gotta come together. We gotta do things like the way you see people donating, the way you see the first responders, how they’re pushing through this. Let’s all feel a sense of community and help the people of Altadena and Pacific Palisades. Come on, let’s do the right thing.
"This is not the time to give people even more stress or more worry and more lack of confidence."
Looting has been a major issue as firefighters work to contain the infernos. Authorities have arrested at least a dozen people in connection with looting and arson.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for looting in fire evacuation zones to be a felony after prosecutors in Southern California urged him to issue harsher penalties, Fox News Digital previously reported.
"Preying on people at their most vulnerable is despicable, these criminals are among the worst kinds," Newsom said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital on Thursday afternoon.
Newsom said "looting has never been legal here" and that "it will not be tolerated" as the state continues to battle the ravenous inferno that broke out on Jan. 7.

"I had an accident at my home in Florida, and that has created some new health challenges and near-term physical limitations for me," Vitale said.
"Now, I'm just going to have to wait some more. I'm not sure exactly when that will be, yet l'm expected to make a full recovery and will provide updates when I have more information. Despite this latest setback, I feel blessed to have the support of my family, friends, and ESPN teammates."
DICK VITALE ENTERS CAITLIN CLARK DEBATE AFTER ESPN ANALYST DOUBLES DOWN ON HOT TAKE
Vitale has not called a game in two years amid battles with various health conditions, including cancer in his vocal cords.
Vitale was diagnosed with melanoma in the summer of 2021, then diagnosed with lymphoma months later. He returned in the fall of 2021, but later had to step away to undergo surgery on his vocal cords.
Vitale announced in summer 2023 that cancer had spread to his vocal cords, and later to his lymph nodes, leaving him with battles against four types of cancer in a four-year span.
He underwent radiation therapy, chemotherapy and more surgery, over the last two years, before announcing he was cancer-free earlier this month.
However, after his recent fall, Vitale will have at least one more recovery to make before college basketball fans get to hear him call another game.
