Jennifer Love Hewittwanted to embrace her sexy side — without being “sexualized” — when it came to her wardrobe in I Know What You Did Last Summer.
In a new interview with Vulture, published on Friday, July 18, Hewitt, 46, and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, 37, spoke about how they wanted to shape her character Julie’s look for the reboot.
According to the outlet, Hewitt, her stylist and Robinson collaborated to conjure up a look “that felt right — sexy but not sexualized, in vintage T-shirts and blazers and jeans.”
Hewitt described the wardrobe choice in comparison to the sexualized outfits she wore in the 1997 original as “very healing.”
“Nobody’s going to be talking about my boobs. ‘Oh, you want me to flash you? They’re down here,’” she joked.
Acknowledging she does wear one low-cut top in IKWYDLS “just to give some cleavage,” Hewitt added, “We were like, ‘Well, we’re back. Why not?’”
Earlier in the piece, Hewitt reflected on seemingly being sexualized as a teenager while working as an actress.
“Before I even knew what sex was, I was a sex symbol. I still don’t know that I have that fully defined for myself because it started so weird,” she said, noting that it “bothers me more now than it did at that age because I was in it.”

Robinson told Vulture that she wanted Hewitt to feel sexy onscreen but not solely for the benefit of men.
“We cannot let men take away the fact that she is hot because they wanted to make it their thing,” she says. “We have to reclaim Jennifer Love Hewitt being hot for us!”
Mom of three Hewitt — she shares Autumn, 11, Atticus, 10 and and Aidan, 4 with husband Brian Hallisay — has previously opened up about how it felt to get so much attention for her body in the 90s.
“In my 30s, I sort of went back and looked at that time again and I was like, ‘Oh my God,’” she told fellow teen star Mayim Bialik on her “Breakdown” podcast in January 2025.
She continued, “There were grown men talking to me at 16 about my breasts just openly on a talk show, and people were laughing about it. I don’t even remember that, I really didn’t take that part in, but in hindsight it was really strange I think to become a sex symbol sort of for people before I even knew what that was.”

In the past few months, Cruise and de Armas have sparked romance rumors as they continue to spend time together. The pair were first spotted together enjoying a meal in London during Valentine’s Day weekend.
While neither de Armas nor Cruise has publicly confirmed their relationship status, the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina star shared during a May appearance on Good Morning America she was having “so much fun” with Cruise and teased they had plans to work together in the future.

Billy Ray, 63, and Hurley, 60, were seen snuggling up while in the audience at Noah’s show at the Islington Assembly Hall on Friday, July 18, according to an eyewitness. In photos obtained by Us Weekly, Billy Ray can be seen sitting next to Hurley with an arm sweetly wrapped around her.
In addition to supporting his daughter from the crowd, Billy Ray joined Noah, 25, on stage for an impromptu performance. The father-daughter duo sang her songs “With You” and “Stand Still” together. “With You” has a particularly special meaning to Noah and Billy Ray as it was inspired by their bond.

A Georgia teen has been accused of killing her mother and stepfather after she first allegedly reached out to TikTok bloggers for help on solving the case.
According to court documents viewed by Us Weekly on Friday, July 18, Sarah Grace Patrick was arrested on July 8 in Carroll County on two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. At the time, she was denied bond.
“We can confirm that an arrest has been made in this case,” the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office also wrote via Facebook on July 8. “Kristin Brock’s 17-year-old daughter, Sarah Grace Patrick, has been taken into custody and charged with two counts of Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault in connection with the deaths of her mother [Kristin] and stepfather [James Brock].”
The arrest came more than one year after police first discovered the bodies of Kristin, 41, and James, 45, on the morning of February 20, 2025. According to police, they both died from apparent gunshot wounds in their home.
“While the case has not remained in the public spotlight in recent months, this investigation has never gone silent,” police said in their latest statement. “Real justice takes time, time to ensure that no detail is overlooked, no stone unturned.”
Even with the arrest, police said the case remains an active and ongoing investigation and additional arrests are possible as new evidence comes to light. Anyone with information is still encouraged to come forward.
“Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime,” police said. “We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community that rallied for justice and never gave up hope.”

Before an arrest was made, Patrick reportedly reached out to multiple TikTok influencers to bring attention to the case, People reported.
Carroll County Communications Director Ashley Hulseyconfirmed to FOX News Digital in a July 11 press conference that Patrick had a TikTok account that commented on posts related to the case and said investigators uncovered “mountains of evidence.”
Patrick’s grandfather Dennis Nolan has questioned the strength of the case and believes his granddaughter is innocent.

The latest iteration of the beloved slasher flick, which hit theaters on Friday, July 18, follows a group of teens who find history repeating itself when they accidentally kill a man on the 4th of July. When a masked fisherman begins to murder them one by one, they enlist the help of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Julie James and Ray Bronson, the original survivors of the 1997 attacks.
Hewitt, 48, and Prinze Jr., 49, both starred in IKWYDLS alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, with the latter two not making it to the sequel. Gellar’s onscreen death in particular has been lauded as one of the best in horror movie history, with many fans wishing her character, Helen, made it out alive after nearly escaping the fisherman’s clutches.
Director and cowriter of the 2025 film Jennifer Kaytin Robinson clearly understands the love for Gellar’s character, honoring her in various ways in the new film. Madelyn Cline’s Danica is clearly meant to be Helen 2.0, a beauty queen and overall diva (in the best way). The new cast makes a stop by Helen’s grave amid the chaos, and podcaster Tyler (Gabbreitte) sports a Helen Shivers T-shirt throughout the film — “Oh god, isn’t she so hot? Sucks she’s dead,” Tyler says.
Tyler and Danica also have attack sequences that mirror Helen’s incredible fight for her life in 1997, although this time, Danica makes it out alive — but not before she’s visited by Helen herself.
In a shocking cameo appearance, Gellar reprises her iconic role and comes to Danica in a dream sequence. “You’re Helen Shivers,” Danica says in shock, to which Helen replies, “And don’t you f***ing forget it.” Dressed in her croaker queen dress, she warns Danica she’s going to die, telling her, “Stay in the dream as long as you can. Nothing good is waiting for you on the other side,” before she begins to bleed and transform into a ghoulish figure.
Prior to the IKWYDLS hitting theaters, Robinson swore she “tried” her best to get Gellar to return for the movie to no avail.

“I harassed her! But she is dead,” Robinson told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year. “I tried to pitch some crazy s*** too. I was like, ‘What if it’s like you weren’t dead and you’re actually alive, but in hiding?’ And Sarah’s like, ‘I was on ice. I was the most dead a person could be. You can see my frozen body.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, but what if?’ And she said, ‘I am dead. I am Sarah Dead Gellar.’”
With real-life husband Prinze Jr. back in action as Ray, however, Gellar did get to fly to Australia with the couple’s kids (Charlotte, 15, and Rocky, 12) to visit the set and serve an important role for Robinson.
“My best friend [Robinson] is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is, I am continuity,” Gellar joked to EW. “So I’m always the one telling her, ‘Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,’ so I do have kind of an unofficial job title.”
Prinze Jr., for his part, didn’t give any inclination his wife would be reappearing in the new film while speaking to Us earlier this month — but stood firm on the opinion that Helen had to die back in 1997.
“If she would’ve made it out, I don’t think people would be talking about it the way they do now,” the actor exclusively told Us Weekly. “That is one of the greatest chase scenes and death scenes in the history of horror films. And that’s all due to Jim [Gillespie], the director, Denis [Maloney] the DP and Sarah the actor in it. And the way they put that scene together.”
Prinze Jr. noting that giving the audience “that much hope” that Helen would make it out alive — she nearly escapes to the 4th of July parade before the fisherman takes her down in an alley — only adds to the iconic moment.
“I love that it gets people worked up. It gets me worked up just talking about it now. Because it’s such an exciting scene to watch. I love that she died. I love the way she died. I love that audiences wish she didn’t die. That just means the director was right. That just means you wanted her to live so much because they executed at such a high level for you to believe she was gonna make it. … That’s what I love about horror films, is when I know they can make people talk about them this many years later.”
I Know What You Did Last Summer is in theaters now.

Justin Hartley‘s show Tracker is losing two main cast members amid a season 3 reconfiguration.
Eric Graise, who played Bobby in the first two seasons, and Abby McEnany a.k.a Velma have both departed the hit CBS show, according to TVLine. This leaves only Hartley, 48, and Fiona Rene from the main cast as the series prepares to kick off production on season 3.
The shakeup comes after Tracker already lost Robin Weigert following the season 1 finale. Weigert’s character, Teddi, was written off in the season 2 premiere by having her wife, Velma, reveal that they needed some distance. Velma then started working with Reenie (Rene), and Teddi wasn’t discussed despite her prominent presence on the show’s first season.
Viewers previously had concerns that there could be more departures after executive producer Elwood Reid exclusively told Us Weekly about possible onscreen changes.
“I do think it’s evolving. If I can’t evolve those characters — Randy or Reenie or Bobby — they’re not just people that just pick up the phone and go, ‘OK, here is the answer.’ That’s when the show is phoning it in,” he explained to Us in May. “The challenge is when you got to learn about them, which I thought was interesting. That’s the challenge of the show is not having it fall into a formula.”
“The only rule I really have of the show is each week Colter is going to come to a new place and there’s going to be a new case. How he gets those answers and what he uses on the team, that’s all something that’s up for grabs,” Reid teased. “Meeting these [local] weird characters is something we’re going to try to do more of as the season goes on. Just Colter coming in and interacting with other characters. That’s fun to see Justin flex those muscles with really good guest cast members.”
Tracker, which premiered in February 2024, largely focuses on fictional survivalist Colter Shaw (Hartley) as he travels the country to help solve various missing persons cases. Since every episode shows Colter getting help from his team — handler Teddi, hacker Bobby and attorney Reenie — it came as a surprise when season 2 featured several episodes without Graise, 35.
Bobby’s cousin Randy (Chris Lee) was brought in to help Colter before Bobby returned, which caused backlash from viewers who grew used to seeing Graise on their screen.
“It’s one of those things where actor availability is always an issue. There have been shows where people don’t even notice [if a character is missing],” Reid added during his interview with Us. “You don’t [always] see Reenie. He talks to Velma for two seconds. He may talk to Bobby for one phone call. The show works because you are over Justin [Hartley]’s shoulder.”
At the time, Reid praised the show’s structure for allowing there to not be any “rules.”
“The only rule I really have of the show is each week Colter is going to come to a new place and there’s going to be a new case. How he gets those answers and what he uses on the team, that’s all something that’s up for grabs,” he teased. “Meeting these [local] weird characters is something we’re going to try to do more of as the season goes on.
