Katy Perry Gets Emotional on 'Lifetimes' Tour Amid Orlando Bloom Split

Katy Perry got emotional on Monday, June 30, as she wrapped the Australian leg of her Lifetimes Tour amid her split from Orlando Bloom.

“Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world,” a teary-eyed Perry, 40, told the audience at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, as she made a heart symbol with her hands.

“Now let’s sing ‘Firework!’” Perry then said, seguing into one of her signature hits to close the show, per fan footage shared via social media.

Perry spent the majority of June in Australia on her Lifetimes Tour, first performing in Sydney on June 4 before traveling across the country, including dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. She performed four nights in Adelaide to wrap the Australian leg of the tour.

Perry is next set to perform on home soil as she returns to the U.S. for a July 10 show in Denver.

While Down Under, news broke that Perry and Bloom, 48, have called it quits after nearly a decade together. The couple share a daughter, Daisy Dove, 4.

“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 25. “It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

The source added that the separation had been a “long time coming” and that things between the former couple had been “tense for months.”

Earlier in June, insiders told Us that the couple had been on the rocks for some time.

“They have been spending more and more time apart. They’ve grown apart and aren’t living the same lives anymore,” one insider said, while another said their inner circle was aware they were going through a difficult time in their relationship.

While Perry was performing in Australia, Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s glamorous wedding in Venice over the weekend.

On Monday, Bloom shared a motivational quote about courage and fear via his Instagram Story amid his split from Perry.

“The important thing is to take that first step.” the actor wrote, crediting Buddhist author Daisaku Ikeda for the quote. “Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.”

Bloom also posted a similarly inspiring quote from the Buddha, which read, “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters the most.”

Jon Benjamin) and his enthusiastic wife, Linda (John Roberts), run a burger joint with their three kids Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal).

This sweet animated sitcom has become a beloved classic for many reasons, but the relationships within the family are what truly bring the flavors together. Bob’s Burgers is a perfect summer show — light, breezy and colorful with a heaping side of heart.

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a gourmet chef, returns to his hometown of Chicago after his brother’s (Jon Bernthal) death and attempts to turn the family’s greasy sandwich shop into a fine dining establishment. The ragtag crew of restaurant employees includes everyone’s scrappy “cousin” Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), talented sous chef Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), acerbic line cook Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas) and many more colorful characters. It’s a pressure cooker of a show, full of tension and high stakes, but it’s also a story about family, community and the way food brings people together.

‘Fleishman Is in Trouble’ (2022)

Toby Fleishman (Jesse Eisenberg) is a newly single divorced father in New York City, who’s preparing to spend his summer sleeping his way through dating apps whenever his two kids are with their mother, Rachel (Claire Danes). One hitch in this plan? Rachel never arrives to pick the kids up.

As the pressure on Toby increases and Rachel’s absence stretches on throughout the summer, Toby and his two best friends (Lizzy Caplan and Adam Brody) are forced to examine their lives and their relationships. This Hulu limited series packs a serious punch, sizzling with the heat of a Manhattan sidewalk in July. The cast is excellent, and the twists are unexpected. Fleishman Is in Trouble is a fascinating examination of upper-middle-class parenthood and the expectations that come with it.

‘Beach Hunters’ (2017-Present)

Do you dream of a saltbox cottage on Cape Cod? Or perhaps a modern manse in Malibu? No matter what your dream beach house looks like, the Beach Hunters team is going to help you find it. In this House Hunters spinoff, families seek out their ideal vacation (or year-round) home that’s within their budget but still checks off all the boxes they need.

For real estate fans, it’s the perfect way to spend a rainy summer day (or a day when all you want is air conditioning.) Ocean breezes meet backsplashes and built-ins. Feeling relaxed yet?

‘Abbott Elementary’ (2021-Present)

Loath as we are to admit it, summer always comes to an end. But if you want to get excited about going back to school (literally or metaphorically), watch Abbott Elementary. This mockumentary series from writer Quinta Brunson (who also stars as second-grade teacher Janine Teagues) is about a hardworking and lovable group of teachers who spend each day at their under-funded elementary school trying to create the best place for their kids to learn.

Janine is alternately helped and hindered by principal Ava Colman (Janelle James) an outrageous and self-centered hustler who’s hiding a heart of gold, as well as her fellow teachers Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph), Melissa Schemmenti (Leslie Ann Walter), Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti) and Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams). It’s a warmhearted and inspirational sitcom that will make you laugh and cry.
