Shields was only a newborn when she appeared in her first TV ad, setting off a chain reaction of events that would see her become a generational touchstone of beauty and youth. Her candid new book is a surprisingly optimistic take on aging full of lessons in self-love and self-advocacy, writes Annabel Nugent. But while definitely hopeful, these promises ring hollow in a society that’s yet to catch up with Shields
Members include Jenna Bush Hager and Taraji P. Henson, who defended the gold strapless gown the 13-year-old wore to the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere in Los Angeles after internet trolls questioned if the look was “age appropriate.”
Christian Siriano— who designed the metallic stunner for Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter — appeared alongside Bush Hager and Henson on the Monday, January 14, episode of Today with Jenna & Friends who praised the Project Runway alum for the “gorgeous” gown.
“It’s so beautiful,” Henson, 54, gushed. “I thought she was age appropriate. She looked like a princess!”
Bush Hager, 43, “totally” agreed with her temporary co-host and added, “For anybody that says differently, we say bye bye.”
“People need to shut up!” Henson quipped. “It was very classy.”
Siriano and his team had a mere 48 hours to make the dress, and they wanted to focus on ensuring the teen looked like Hollywood royalty.
“What girl doesn’t want to have a princess moment?” Siriano, 39, asked hypothetically. “And when your parents are Beyoncé and Jay-Z what are you supposed to wear? A doily? Like, you’re not going to wear a tutu. You want to look like a star, come on.”
Henson was quick to point out that Blue Ivy is still just “a child” and urged everyone to keep “our opinions to ourselves.”
“Kindness really matters, and it’s not as easy to do,” she continued. “You can sit on your phone and Twitter your thumbs all you want to, but let’s see you get on the red carpet and pull off a look.”
Bush Hager also gave Siriano props for how the dress’ golden finish resembled the color scheme of the film she starred in, so it was “what she should be wearing.” (Beyoncé, 43, voiced Queen Nala in the Disney live action prequel, while Blue Ivy voiced her daughter Kiara.)
Blue Ivy initially faced some criticism from trolls who deemed the dress “inappropriate,” to which Henson (a regular on the red-carpet best-dressed list) clapped back: “It was very appropriate,”
Several other celebrities — including Sherri Shepherd and Christina Milian— have also joined the conversation to voice their support for Blue Ivy’s show-stopping style.
For her part, Beyoncé hasn’t dignified the naysayers with a response and has yet to acknowledge the mixed reviews. Instead, she proudly joined her daughter at the premiere with her husband, Jay-Z, 55, — in a coordinated black-and-gold Balmain dress from the label’s limited-edition Disney x Balmain: The Lion King collection.
Designed by Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, the strapless column was adorned with gold polka dots made from metal leaves that, while on-theme, didn’t steal the spotlight from Blue Ivy.
After the red carpet was rolled up, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer praised her mini-me in a heartfelt Instagram shoutout on December 9. “My gorgeous baby girl,” she captioned the post featuring photos of her daughter posing for photographers. “This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining.”
After all, Blue Ivy is a rising fashion star in the making — and according to Beyoncé’s stylist Shiona Turini, Blue Ivy “makes the final choice” when it comes to her stage looks.
Case in point? The all-white wardrobe Beyoncé recently donned for her much-talked-about halftime performance during the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens Christmas Day game. (The 13-minute performance, dubbed the “Beyoncé Bowl,” aired live on Netflix and is now streaming on the platform.)
For the set, the Grammy winner sang tracks from her Grammy-nominated country album Cowboy Carter. Flanked by a massive ensemble on the field — which included Blue Ivy — they all fittingly wore Western-inspired white costumes, with Beyoncé in a custom Roberto Cavalli feather coat and more than 350 carats of diamond Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Meanwhile, Blue Ivy dressed like a mini “Cowboy Carter” in a crystal-covered corset and wide-leg pants from Ukrainian designer Frolov that were festooned with fringe. They both topped things off with a Stetson hat.
“When Bey said she wanted everyone in white, I knew we had to look at different textures, different patterns, different accents — whether it was fringe, suede, crystals, American flags,” Turini said in a December interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “You really have to lean into the elements that are going to make each section feel different so it doesn’t feel repetitive.”
Turini continued: “But for Blue, you can play around with her options because she will be different from anyone else, no matter what.” Standout style, indeed.

“Of all the bands in Making the Band, we’re the only one not tied to him,” original member Jacob Underwood said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, January 14.“The more people confuse us with a Diddy band and post our pictures with his story, the more it goes against us. We make a living touring and can’t afford to have [bookers] Googling us to find the latest Diddy clickbait.”
Underwood, 44, pointed out that he has never even met the 55-year-old rapper.
O-Town was formed during the inaugural season of Making the Band, which aired in 2000 on ABC. During season 1, Lou Pearlman — who was the infamous mastermind behind the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSync — was on the hunt for the next great boyband. Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Ashley Parker Angel and Ikaika Kahoano were selected at first. However, Kahoano departed the group and current member Dan Miller was brought in as a replacement. (Angel later exited the group for good in 2003.)
After season 1 ended, O’Town was signed to a record label. Following O-Town’s success a new season of Making the Band was in the works. However, the show left ABC and was then broadcast on MTV. The MTV version brought in Diddy to scout the talent where he formed the musical acts Danity Kane, Da Band, Day26 and solo artist Donnie Klang.
While O-Town was not involved in Diddy’s version of the singing competition series, the group has claimed to suffer from fallout amid the rapper’s current legal situation. Diddy remains behind bars awaiting trial after being indicted on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering last year. Diddy has denied all the allegations and has pleaded not guilty.
“We already inherited our own infamous producer/manager from our version of Making the Band and now another version and its mogul is affecting us.”For our livelihood to be impacted this many years after the brand was moved to him is so unfortunate, ” Estrada, 45, said to The Hollywood Reporter, referring to Pearlman’s legal scandals. In 2008, Pearlman was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of conspiracy, money laundering and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding. He died of cardiac arrest in 2016 at age 62 while in prison.
The band’s agent Matt Rafal added that O-Town has had offers “pulled due to the perception of the group being attached to Diddy” despite making it clear there was no connection between them and Diddy.
“I can’t play victim because there are people who have experienced atrocities from this person and are scarred for life,” Estrada said to the outlet. “We have financial and booking stress, but they have emotional stress. We just have to take this on the chin and keep going.”
Before appearing on season 3 of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Marion Jones had waged plenty of battles in the court of public opinion.
Jones, 49, won five medals — three gold and two bronze — at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, but was later stripped of the medals after admitting to lying about taking performance-enhancing drugs.
In addition to giving her medals back, Jones was sentenced to six months in prison in 2008 for her role in the scandal.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly before the Special Forces premiere, Jones said the show gave her the chance to “revisit the intensity level” of her Olympic past.
“I think the general public sees us excel in a small window, but you don’t know that from the time that we were 3, 4, 5 years old until whenever our sport ended, we’ve been at that level,” Jones said of her and her Special Forces castmates. “And when you’re removed from it, for whatever reason, and you start life there’s always something, at least for me, like, ‘Ah, there’s something more. I need to be challenged somehow.’”
She added, “No doubt this experience satisfied that for me.”
Special Forces soldier Rudy Reyes exclusively told Us Weekly that he looked at Jones’ appearance on the show as an attempt to rewrite her public narrative.
“She was the fastest woman on the planet,” Reyes said. “I really, really admired the work and her speed and her training. She had many world records. And then she got hit with the charges for doping, and she really became a scapegoat and a sacrificial lamb and ultimately went to prison.”
Reyes added, “I just love a comeback story. That’s really quintessentially American. We always give someone another chance. And it was really wonderful to see her out there.”

Marion Jones Was A Dual Sport Athlete in College
During her time at the University of North Carolina, Jones was also a member of the women’s basketball team in addition to her starring role on the track and field team.
Jones was on the roster of the Tar Heel team that won the 1994 national title, and was a two-time All-ACC selection and the Most Valuable Player of the 1997 ACC Tournament.
Following her track and field career, Jones played two seasons in the WNBA with the Tulsa Shock from 2010-2011.
Marion Jones Lied About Her Performance-Enhancing Drug Use for Years
In December 2004, Victor Conte, the founder of a company called BALCO, said he had given Jones four different illegal performance-enhancing drugs before, during, and after the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games during an interview on ABC’s 20/20.
Jones denied the allegations for years, before ultimately admitting to lying to federal agents under oath in October 2007.
In a press conference, Jones issued a mea culpa to the American public.
“It is with a great amount of shame that I stand before you and tell you that I have betrayed your trust and you have the right to be angry with me,” Jones said. “I have let them down. I have let my country down. And I have let myself down.”
In July 2006, Jones was also linked to a check-counterfeiting scheme in which documents showed a $25,000 check had been deposited into Jones’ bank account. Jones eventually pleaded guilty to her knowledge of the scheme.
Jones was sentenced to six months in jail in 2008 for her involvement in the check fraud case and her use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Marion Jones Has Been Married Twice
Jones got married to shot putter C.J. Hunter in 1998 after the pair met while Jones was a student-athlete and Hunter was a coach at North Carolina.
At the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Hunter abruptly withdrew from the shot put competition, citing a knee injury. However, the International Olympic Committee announced shortly after that Hunter had failed four pre-Olympic drug tests.
The couple divorced in 2002. After their split, Hunter gave testimony to a grand jury in 2004 saying Jones’ steroid use started well before the Sydney Games.
Jones would not publicly admit to the drug use until years later.
Hunter died in 2021 at the age of 52.
In February 2007, Jones married Barbadian Olympian Obadele Thompson. Jones and Thompson had two children together before the couple divorced in 2017.
Jones also gave birth to a son with ex-boyfriend, Tim Montgomery Jr., in June 2003.
Marion Jones Now Spends Her Time Paying Things Forward
In 2024, Jones helped launch Driven Performance, which is “dedicated to helping you achieve your potential, and exceed what you thought possible by developing the discipline and mindset to start winning at every area of your life.”
During an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts in July 2024, Jones said she wants people to look at her life and “ultimately come to the conclusion that failure isn’t forever.”
“I would hope that when people see my story ultimately they say, ‘You know what? Yeah, she went through some stuff,’” Jones said. “Lot of it [is] because of her own choices. But she didn’t stay there, and she didn’t allow it all to ultimately consume her.”
After announcing the birth of their third child, star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes shared some insight into how he passed the time at the hospital.
Just after the start of the new year, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their second daughter, Golden Raye, into the world on Sunday, January 12.
According to Sports Illustrated, Patrick revealed during a press conference that he managed to sneak in some playoff prep as Brittany prepared for birth.
“I’m just supporting, you know. Brittany crushed it. It’s been cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how my other kids react to her,” Patrick said.
“It was cool that football was on TV when I was in the hospital, so I got to watch a little bit,” he revealed.
“Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football as she was getting ready to give birth to our second daughter.”
Patrick and Brittany are also parents to 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Patrick was able to be present for the birth of this third child after the Chiefs clinched the top seed in the AFC, giving them a bye the first round of the playoffs.
“It was cool that we got the bye,” he told reporters, according to KSBY, “just cause you can kind of really focus in on just being at the hospital and being in the moment.”
“It’s a special moment that a lot of dads and moms have experienced, and you don’t forget about that stuff. So I was glad I was able to be there and support in the best way I can.”
After Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joked that “once you have three, four and five are easy,” Patrick, who Reid described as a “great” father, said he is “good with three for right now.”
The head-to-toe jean look became iconic in 2001 when Britney Spears and her ex Justin Timberlake commanded attention at the American Music Awards. Spears, for her part, wore a strapless jean dress featuring a patchwork A-line skirt. She added just the right amount of sparkle to her look with a chunky crystal choker and chain belt.
Timberlake, meanwhile, rocked a Canadian tuxedo designed by Levi’s and Jezebel equipped with faded fabric. He teamed the look with a denim hat, tan sunglasses and a silver necklace.
Swift nailed the trend while cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce in a Versace corset top and shorts at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2024. At the time, she elevated her look with thigh-high maroon Giuseppe Zanotti boots and a Louis Vuitton purse.

Dorinda Medley was just as bummed as Us to get the boot on season 3 of TheTraitors.
The Real Housewives of New York City star, 60, gushed about what fans could have seen if she wasn’t the first to get “murdered” by Danielle Reyes, Carolyn Wiger and Bob the Drag Queen during The Traitors, which aired on January 1. “I went in strong. if you saw my outfits, you would have been very appreciative,” Medley told “Out & About” podcast cohosts Pat McAuliffe and Joey Camasta on Tuesday, January 14.
“I got a screener so I did see [some] of them,” Camasta reassured Medley.
“Yes, but that was only a handful,” she replied, noting she had many more fabulous ensembles packed.
Medley previously gushed to Glamourabout the looks she planned to wear on Traitors in an interview published on Monday, January 13.
“I had the best outfits ever,” she said. “I broke out all my old Vivienne Westwood. I had all my Prada tartans, I had a lot of Libertine. Endless amounts of Burberry. I didn’t get to break out any of it. And the shoe situation was out of control.”
As for her emotional exit, Medley admitted that she wanted fans to feel “both disappointed and angry.” She quipped, “Yeah, that’s a good combo I think for this one. They should feel betrayed.”
During her short time on the show, Medley rocked a number of statement styles, including an Americana red, white and blue patterned jacket with glittery eye embellishments. She teamed the look with a white blouse with an oversized collar, black bedazzled pants and beaded earrings.
Brooke Shields never had a baby with her ex-husband, Andre Agassi — a decision she says turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
“I’m glad I never got pregnant with my first husband because it would have been a disaster,” Shields, 59, wrote in her latest memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman, published on Tuesday, January 14. “When we got divorced he made that very clear.”
Shields claimed in her book that Agassi, 54, told her to “be thankful we didn’t have children” when they split “because I would not have made this easy for you.”
“Well, thank you for that tidbit, I thought,” Shields quipped in the memoir. “You just made this particular transition much easier!”
“One of the reasons I married Andre was that I liked being in a relationship with someone more famous than I was,” Shields explained elsewhere in the memoir. “After a lifetime of always being the focus, it was a relief to be able to slink into the background a bit. He was a gallant guy, too, and I loved that.”
On the other hand, Shields called her marriage a “controlling, rigid relationship” and shared a discussion she had with Agassi about her body.
“When I would profess my insecurities to my first husband, he would always say, ‘I wish you could see yourself the way I see you.’ However, when I said, ‘Will you still love me if I’m big and fat?’ I could never have expected his response,” Shields wrote, noting that she was referring to herself as a pregnant woman.
Agassi’s reply, according to Shields, was: “I love you too much to let you get big and fat!”
Shields acknowledged that this was “an unfair question” to ask but she “definitely did not” anticipate that reply.
“I started to spin a bit,” she continued. “But we all know how that relationship turned out, so let’s move on.”
Following their divorce, Shields moved on with Chris Henchy. She met Henchy in 1999 “at the gym on the Warner Bros. lot” while she was still married to Agassi.
“We became friendly because we’d see each other at that gym from time to time — I was working on Suddenly Susan, he was writing for a show on the lot — but we didn’t start to date until the following year, after I’d gotten divorced,” she wrote.
Shields and Henchy married in 2001 and share two daughters, Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18.
Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old is out now.
If we’re ever going to get Jennifer Lopez’sstyle . . . we’re going to have to recreate it. The mega movie and music star is always dressed head-to-toe in designer and if we had her budget, we honestly would too. But for now we don’t, which is why recreated her designer sneaker look — and the style is just $37.
The This Is Me… Now: A Love Story star was spotted in December in some designer shoes we haven’t stopped thinking about since. Shopping at the Brentwood Country Mart is Los Angeles, California, the singer nailed a casual day slay, wearing a Coach herringbone coat, a black Hermès Kelly croc bag, some silver hoop earrings from Jennifer Fisher and oversized dior shades.
She must’ve known she’d be doing a lot of walking, seeing that she reached for the Chloe Kick sneakers, which are a sleek and comfy tennis shoe style. Like with most things J.Lo wears, the shoes were an expensive buy (per our standards), coming in at $690. And since we could use a casual kick style for ourselves, we searched the internet to find a similar version and landed on this $34 style on Amazon.
So, the Belos Lightweight Casual Retro Tennis Shoes aren’t an exact lookalike . . . but they’re close enough to Us! They still have that rich-looking, upscale aesthetic, made with a similar mesh woven upper. They also have a similar neutral color combination, lace-up closure and slip on design.
Of course, the shoes have their differences too. Unlikes the singer’s pick, the shoes are made with a thick rubber sole, which allows for greater traction and shock absorption. They also feature an exposed knit detail around the bottom, which provides added visual interest. You could keep the neutral aesthetic going like Lopez with their cream option, or switch it up with something different. Find them in several color options like multi, gold and black and sizes 5 to 11 too.
They’re “a show stopper,” one buyer exclaimed. After having several people give her compliments on them, the reviewer said that they’re an “ amazing addition” to their collection.
“Not only do they look amazing, they are also very, very comfortable, [are] true to size and are] very well made,” they said.
Lopez’s outfit is a template for how the shoes can be worn for running a few errands, while thrown with some jeans, a t-shirt and your favorite winter coat. They can be styled way beyond just that though. They can go with leggings and sweater outfits for spring travels, and will even be able to go with dresses and skirts once the spring rolls around. They’re not meant for anything drastic like a hike, but they’ll certainly make you look stylish while walking miles.
Maybe one day ( when we win the lottery), we’ll be able to buy Lopez’s actual designer shoe picks. But for now, these make a fantastic lookalike in our closet and our wallets will be singing about them too.

Sunny Hostin’s husband, Emmanuel “Manny” Hostin, made headlines after he was named in an insurance fraud lawsuit.
According to legal documents viewed by Us Weekly on January 7, 2025, Emmanuel is one of almost 200 defendants included in a lawsuit filed with the New York Eastern District Court.
The orthopedic surgeon, based in New York, is accused of federal insurance fraud and “getting kickbacks by performing surgery and … billing a company that insured taxi companies and Uber and Lyft drivers,” as reported by the Daily Mail.
Emmanuel’s attorney has denied all the allegations on behalf of his client.
In addition, Sunny has defended her husband and claims that the plaintiff, American Transit, an insurance group that primarily works with ride-share drivers, has “a history of filing frivolous claims.”
Keep reading for an overview of the ongoing case:
Who Is Dr. Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Hostin?
Emmanuel is an orthopedic surgeon based out of New York City with nearly 29 years of experience. He graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1996 and is the owner of Hostin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a practice the surgeon established in Manhattan in 2006.
Married to Sunny since 1998, the couple share son Gabriel, a student at Harvard University, and daughter Paloma, a student at Cornell University.
What Is Dr. Emmanuel Hostin Being Accused of?
According to the lawsuit viewed by Us, Emmanuel is accused of allegedly and “knowingly” providing “fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries to Covered Persons through Hostin Orthopaedics.” The surgeon is also accused of fraudulently billing American Transit for the costs.
Emmanuel allegedly perpetrated this fraud “in exchange for kickbacks and/or other compensation which were disguised as dividends or other cash distributions.” He denies the allegations.
What Has Dr. Emmanual Hostin Said About the Lawsuit?
Emmanuel addressed the allegations via his attorney, Daniel John Thwaites, who told the Daily Mail that his client “denies each and every allegation.”
Thwaites added that the lawsuit is a “blanket, scattershot, meritless lawsuit by a near-bankrupt insurance carrier.”
“It is meant to intimidate and harass doctors from collecting for care given to American Transit insureds and their passengers,” Thwaites continued. “American Transit has rushed into the lawsuit without ever conducting an examination of Dr. Hostin or expressing any concerns to his lawyers. The real story here is about an insurance carrier abusing the legal system to limit and restrict health care benefits to its insureds and their passengers, and write off its proper obligations.”
What Has Sunny Hostin Said About the Lawsuit?
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Sunny slammed the “frivolous civil lawsuit” against her husband and approximately 200 other doctors.
“In an attempt to poison the well of public opinion because it does not have a valid case against my husband, American Transit instead used my celebrity status to start a disgusting media smear campaign against my husband, which included me and our children,” she said. “They plastered pictures of our family all over tabloid publications.
American Transit is harassing me and my family in a frantic attempt to not pay its bills. Our family will not be intimidated and harassed. We remain unbowed.”
Hostin confirmed she retained Mark Geragos as her attorney and has “put American Transit on notice and will file a $5 million counter lawsuit for their defamatory claims, an amount that is likely to increase as the reputational damage that American Transit has intentionally caused is difficult to quantify at this time.”
“Further, we demand that they withdraw these false allegations, pay my husband what he is owed and issue a public apology,” Sunny continued. “Insurance companies like American Transit make an already broken healthcare system nearly impossible for Americans to navigate and get good healthcare by engaging in despicable tactics like harassing doctors. Let me be clear, where I come from, American Transit will receive a PHD from FAFO University.”

Hallmark Media made headlines in 2022 when they upped their exclusive contracts following a mass exodus of their talent to competitor Great American Media.
“It’s usually for either two movies, and some of them are for a Christmas movie,” Hallmark executive vice president Lisa Hamilton Daly told Deadline in May 2022 of their approach to keeping stars such as Lacey Chabert and Nikki DeLoach. “It’s really to make sure that we have access to that talent during the year.”
While the contract was lucrative, the actress ended the working relationship after just three Flower Shop Mysteries films.
“I’d completed only three when I realized I had to renegotiate. I’d been hired, I was told, to help change the face of the network,” she wrote. “They wanted me to be funny and bring more comedy to their offerings, but as filming progressed on each of the Flower Shop Mysteries — the franchise I was hired to headline — all the humor had evaporated.”
Scroll down to see which Hallmark stars past and present have talked about their respective contracts:
Brooke Shields
After playing flower shop owner and ex-lawyer Abby Knight in three Flower Shop Mysteries movies in 2016, Shields cut ties with Hallmark.
“Not everything is for everyone, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Hallmark Channel — God knows it has a huge fan base — but it was not the future I wanted for my career,” Shields wrote in her Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old memoir, which was released in January 2025. “I’m never against hard work, but I am now a believer in only saying yes to work that serves me.”
The actress realized, “I simply could not do ten more films that were not what I was promised and felt completely wrong for me. So I quit. I definitely surprised some people, and in plenty of ways I surprised myself. I certainly would never have done that in my 20s.”
“I’ve had overall deals with them and in [the terms it says,] I’m gonna commit to five Christmas movies or five movies, but I can’t work for any other network — and they name all the other networks — and they can’t be holiday-related movies,” he explained during an appearance on Tosh Show in December 2023. “So I was able to do [Netflix’s Single All the Way] because I was outside my deal with them.”
The actor noted that Netflix paid less than his Hallmark projects which pay “well.” Macfarlane is also a fan of his residuals from the network.
“They have to air a certain amount of time before you start getting [residuals],” he said of Hallmark. “If you end up doing one of the ones that kind of hits and is popular, it gets aired more and more, so you eventually get residuals.”
Candace Cameron Bure
Cameron Bure stepped away from her role as Hallmark’s “Queen of Christmas” in April 2022. She gave insight into her decision to move to Great American that September, claiming it was partially because of negotiations.
“The truth is I’ve been under contract with Hallmark for a very, very long time. And those have been absolutely wonderful,” she told Variety at the time. “It just so happened that my contract was expiring when Great American Family started up.”
Cameron Bure — who starred in 18 Aurora Teagarden Mysteries on Hallmark Mysteries — alleged that she waited until the contract was up before talking with Great American Media. “We did not start having those discussions until we were well into negotiations with Hallmark Channel for renewing,” she continued. “And as every businessperson knows, you’ve got to do what’s right for contracts. It didn’t work out with Hallmark and so we started talking to Bill.”
Danica McKellar
McKellar became a fixture on Hallmark in 2015, but parted ways with the network in October 2021 as one of the first stars to ink a deal with Great American Media. In November 2024, she revealed that she wasn’t under contract with Hallmark at any point.
“At Hallmark, I never had an overall deal. And, with Great American, I had these multi-picture deals,” McKellar claimed during an episode of the “Sex, Lies and Spray Tans” podcast. “They let me be way more involved in the writing and the producing. It is so creatively fulfilling.”
