Stephen “tWitch” Boss is survived by his wife, children and more extended relatives after his December 2022 death at age 40.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” Boss’ wife,Allison Holker, said in a statement to theLos Angeles Timesat the time. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
The So You Think You Can Dance alums began dating after competing on the dance competition in 2010. They shared three children together:Weslie, Maddox and Zaia. (Boss adopted Weslie, Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship.)
Though tWitch and Holker initially met in 2006, sparks didn’t fly until seeing each other again in 2010 on the So You Think You Can Dance: All-Stars competition. The pair tied the knot three years later and welcomed son Maddox in 2016 and daughter Zaia in 2019. The Stomp the Yard: Homecoming actor also adopted Holker’s daughter, Weslie, from a previous relationship.
Three days before his death, tWitch and Holker — who, in addition to her own career as a professional dancer, appeared as a cheerleader in the first two High School Musical films — celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. “Happy anniversary my love @allisonholker #9years ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” the choreographer wrote via Instagram at the time, alongside a black-and-white photo of the two dancing at their wedding.
The following day, the couple uploaded a joint video of them rocking around the Christmas tree. “HOLIDAY SUNDAY FUNDAY DANCE !!!” the twosome captioned the sweet clip. Holker confirmed her husband’s death one day after his passing, paying tribute to him in her statement at the time.
Holker wrote her This Far memoir, which was released in 2025, that charted the couple’s relationship. She also claimed that Boss had struggled with addiction ahead of his passing, which sparked criticism from his other relatives and friends. Holker insisted that she only wrote the book to “help other people” and share the pair’s respective stories.
tWitch adopted Weslie, Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship. Based on the teen's Instagram account, which is run by her parents, she plays high school soccer and has done some modeling. While mourning tWitch, Jodie Sweetin told Entertainment Tonight that her daughter Zoie is friends with Weslie as they go to the same school.
The dancers welcomed their only son, Maddox, into the world in 2016. Their little boy — who began first grade in August 2022 — was frequently featured on his dad’s Instagram, including a sweet video where he was doing “the running man” dance move while tWitch picked him up.
“Okay this was a good idea until it wasn’t. Hindsight is 20/20…….and a lot less painful in this case,” the former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ joked at the time. “Can’t front though, Maddox form is amazing. 🤣🤣.”
Holker and tWitch’s youngest child, Zaia, was born in November 2016. The couple celebrated their little girl’s 3rd birthday in November 2022. “This is 3!! Can’t believe how quickly this time has passed!So proud of our baby Z,” tWitch wrote at the time, alongside a clip of photos of their little one throughout the years. “We love you Zaia and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! 🎁🎈🎊🎉🎂.”
Along with his other family members, tWitch often shared sweet photos and videos with his mom via social media. In October 2022, the ABC alum celebrated his mother’s birthday with a heartfelt post and a carousel of family photos.
“Mom thank you for life and thank you for love,” he wrote at the time. “Love you to the moon and back and back again.”
Earlier that month, Alexander danced with her son and daughter-in-law on the app. “Ayyyye you know it’s a good day when mom is out here grooving with us!!” tWitch captioned the video.
Days after her son's passing, Alexander took to her Instagram Story to thank everyone for their well-wishes and pay tribute to tWitch. "Stephen Laurel, your mother loves you to eternity and beyond," she penned.
In the wake of his brother’s death, Deondre shared multiple posts paying tribute to tWitch.
In September, he gave the Step Up: Revolution star a sweet shout-out. “This dude @sir_twitch_alot is the definition of a true brother,” Deondre captioned the image of him and tWitch smiling at the camera. “We can be completely honest with each other and allow for a difference of opinion. We build each other up by taking action. It’s amazing to have such a role model. Love you much you lame ass 😂.”
Stephen’s younger brother honored his late sibling with an Instagram video of the SYTYCD alum busting a move. “The King of this s—t. Effortless,” Cameron wrote days after his brother’s passing. “LONG LIVE STEPHEN TWITCH BOSS.”
tWitch, for his part, paid tribute to his “kid brother” on his 24th birthday in 2017 by sharing a photo of the two as kids via Twitter.
“Even though he is my kid brother, he isn't really a kid anymore especially that today is his 24th birthday,” tWitch wrote at the time. “I still remember this day in 93. Ganny came to pick me up from school and simply said ‘He's here’. From bottle feeds, power ranger games, tony hawk, dynasty warriors, living room dance sessions, fights, and deep talks, cheers to 24 and much love to 24 more!! Love you Brother!”
Both tWitch and his grandfather shared their love for one another in the days leading up to and after the DJ’s death.
“Shouting the BIGGEST HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GRANDFATHER (DADA)! I love you! IG fam help me wish him happy birthday @mreb38 ❤️❤️❤️ #OGBoss,” tWitch wrote via Instagram several days before his passing, sharing a recent photo of him and his grandpa, as well as a throwback image from his childhood.
Eddy, for his part, paid tribute to his late grandson in a Wednesday, December 14 interview with the Daily Mail. “All I can say is he was a beautiful person that contributed so much to this world and to everyone he met in a positive way,” Eddy told the outlet. “We miss him dearly and we're hurting tremendously.' The supportive grandfather also revealed tWitch’s final text to him. “His last words to me were a simple text that says ‘I love you Dad-Dad.’”

After Zendaya, 28, showed off her dainty “T” tattoo at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, TMZ reported that Holland, 28, got matching ink to honor his fiancée.
According to the outlet, the duo got inked at Boston Tattoo Company on November 27. Holland reportedly got a “Z” sketched into his ribcage.
Tattoo artist Lily Jarnryd later opened up to Us Weekly about tattooing the Spider-Man costars, gushing, “It was a lot of fun, it was lovely meeting them.” She continued, “They are both lovely and I wish them the best. I love my job so much!”
Zendaya’s side tattoo wasn’t the only thing she showed off at the Golden Globes. She also debuted her engagement ring, which Holland gave her over the holidays. Her east-west ring features a horizontal diamond set on a 18-karat white and yellow gold band, reported to be from London-based celebrity jeweler Jessica McCormack.

Timothée Chalamet just made one Bob Dylan megafan’s dreams come true — but he might have caused a little family discord in the process.
On Wednesday, January 8, sports radio host Chris “Mad Dog” Russo told his followers on social media that he’d been invited to the London premiere of Chalamet’s new Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown after the star slid into his DMs.
Russo, 65, a longtime Dylan fan who hosts his own Sirius XM sports radio show, had spent the weeks ahead of the event sharing his frustration at being left off of the film’s press run. He told listeners that he even reached out to Chalamet’s father in an attempt to have the actor guest on his show and talk about Dylan’s music.
Despite those ups and downs, Russo’s efforts were ultimately successful. After Russo went on a lengthy rant about the upcoming premiere on Tuesday, January 7, Chalamet, 29, an avid sports fan, shared the clip and wrote in his Instagram Stories, “We gotta get Mad Dog a ticket to Paris or London or Rome premiere!!!!”
The next day Russo, who frequently appears on ESPN’s First Take, told cohost Stephen A. Smith that Chalamet had come through. “How about yesterday?” he said. “I go to Cablevision. You ready? I go to Cablevision and return a box. I get a phone call from [Jeff Saturday’s agent] Jill, your agent. She says, ‘Chris, you’re not gonna believe this.’ I says, ‘What’s that?’ ‘Mr. Chalamet called Searchlight, who called us and offered you two tickets to one of those premieres next week in Europe.”
Russo decided to take his daughter, Kiera, who will celebrate her birthday the day after the movie’s January 14 premiere in London, as his plus one. This decision prompted another outburst — this time from Chris’ son, Colin, who went off on his own rant about his dad on his show “Russo & Rizzo.”
Spencer Pratt may have lost his home in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, but he still has some of his Taylor Swift merchandise.
Pratt, 41, took to his TikTok on Wednesday, January 8, to respond to a user who wrote, “All your [Swiftie] crap prob gone.” In the video, Pratt stared at the camera as he zoomed in on his white sweater with red writing that read, “TAYLOR SWIFT.”
In the background of the clip, which was set to Swift’s Reputation tune “…Ready For It?”, ocean waves were visible in the distance.
Pratt has been candid through the years about his obsession with Swift, 35. While attending her ReputationStadiumTour in 2018, he met the pop star. He and his wife, Heidi Montag, also attended the record-breaking Eras Tour in August 2023.
Amid the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area, Pratt’s sister, Stephanie, revealed he and Montag, 38, lost their home. (TMZ was the first to report the news, with sources sharing that the “entire family was able to safely evacuate earlier in the day.”) UsWeekly reached out for comment at the time.
“Honestly looking for advice. I’m frozen in shock. How horrible for my sweet little nephews to watch their house disappear like this. They must be so scared and confused,” Stephanie, 38, shared on Tuesday, January 7, that she was devastated for her family. (Pratt and Montag, who wed in November 2008, share sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months.)
Stephanie shared that she was devastated for the family. “I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi & the kids,” Stephanie added, alongside an image of Spencer watching the fire. “Just spoke to my dad — he tried to save my brother’s house but the wind is so strong there was nothing he could do.”
The next day, Pratt shared a photo of his security camera from one of his son’s rooms. “The one positive sign i saw as our house burned down was ours sons [sic] bed burned in the shape of a heart,” he wrote via Instagram. “A sign of how much love was in this house so thankful for all the years.”
Later that day, Montag shared insight into her mindset. “The craziest thing when you’re packing for a fire is that your brain just freaks out,” Montag said via her Instagram Story on Wednesday. “You’re like, ‘What do I need? What do I not need?’ It’s so overwhelming packing up a house. I mean, I only have, like, two pairs of jeans, two shirts. I got so much more clothes for the kids.”
Montag said she asked herself, “‘Why didn’t I grab more?” While beginning to get emotional, Montag said, “The main thing is that we’re safe. Got out.”
“You really just panic and then a part of you [thinks], ‘I’m coming back.’ You know, ‘Of course I’m coming back for all [our things].’ So I’m praying for everybody else who’s going through this and all my friends and loved ones,” she said. “Thank God we have our health and our children — and I know that. Just trying to focus on the gratitude. It just kind of comes in waves.”
Kayla Nicole candidly expressed why she was overcome with emotion during a recent food run.
Nicole, 33, the ex of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, posted a video via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 8, showing the model clearly upset while sitting in her car.
“Oh my God, y’all. Can I just be honest for a second?” Nicole said “I just pulled over to get some food in this restaurant. Had to take my food to go because I started just crying uncontrollably, which is very on brand for me.”
Nicole added, “I said it once, I said it again. I am an empath through and through. I feel things so deeply.”
At the root of Nicole’s emotional state, she explained, were the wildfires that continue to ravage the greater Los Angeles area.
“The state of my city right now,” Nicole continued. “I have family members that are displaced. I have people in my life whose homes are in danger. I know people directly whose homes have burned down.”
Nicole did not mention if she was under threat of evacuation, but noted how the fires have allowed her to feel gratitude for everything she has.
“I don’t think until moments like this we truly understand the magnitude of the blessing it is to have a home, to have a place to call home,” she said. “A lot of people lost everything last night and I can’t imagine what that feels like.”

Nicole then led a prayer for “anyone else that may still be in harm’s way. I want to pray for our first responders. I want to pray for the people that have been impacted, who already wil have to put their lives back together.”
After the prayer, Nicole wiped away tears before ending the video.
Nicole, who dated Kelce, 35, on and off for five years before breaking up for good in 2022, is currently appearing on season 3 of the Fox reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
Later in the premiere, the Special Forces soldiers pulled up an article from The Independent with the headline: “Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole asks trolls to ‘leave her alone’ as Taylor Swift releases new album.”
The article came out shortly after the release of Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024, Nicole posted via X: “There’s just no way I can fully digest all these new albums. I’m still on Cowboy Carter.”
Nicole then fired back at critics who perceived her message to be a direct shot at Swift.
“I’m unproblematic. Mind my business. Never respond to the constant vitriol,” she posted. “Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either. Just know everyone has a breaking point & would love for ‘yall’ (because you know exactly who you are) to leave me alone.”

Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ mom, Connie Boss Alexander, is breaking her silence one day after her late son’s wife, Allison Holker, included personal details about his life in her upcoming memoir.
“Our family is absolutely appalled by the misleading and hurtful claims made about my son, Stephen Boss,” Boss Alexander wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 9. “The recent publications spreading untruths about Stephen have crossed every line of decency. As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished. He doesn’t deserve this, and the kids don’t deserve this.”
Boss Alexander explained that she had “remained quiet and away from the public eye to protect my family” for the past two years.
“My primary focus has been on healing and attempting to remain connected to my grandchildren,” she continued. “But when I read these dreadful claims about my baby, our beloved Stephen, I realized I could not stay silent any longer. Our family will ensure his name and memory are protected, and we are committed to defending his honor.”
The statement was signed with her name, “Connie Boss Alexander.”
In the comments section of the post, former Ellen DeGeneres Show producer Andy Lassner replied, “Sending you so much love.” Us Weekly reached out to Holker’s rep for comment.

Holker received backlash after a Tuesday, January 7, interview about her late husband and her upcoming memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light, in which she discussed his alleged drug issues and childhood sexual abuse. Boss died by suicide in December 2022 at age 40.
Holker, for her part, released a statement explaining her reasoning behind sharing intimate details in her book.

“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends, I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people,” Holker wrote via her Instagram Story on Wednesday. “Just like you, I never really knew what happened, and even as I am trying to put the pieces together I will never really know.”
Holker added that she hopes readers will be able to see she intended to “celebrate the love and life” she and Boss had with their family. (Holker and Boss shared daughter Zaia, 5, and son Maddox, 8. He was the adoptive father of Holker’s eldest daughter, Wesley, 16.)
“I hope that by sharing our full story maybe I can help someone else who might see themselves or a loved one in Stephen,” Holker continued. “In sharing I hope that maybe they can catch some of the red flags that I missed before it’s too late.”
Holker also claimed that she spoke with several mental health nonprofits over the past “two years” to ensure she accurately detailed the subject. She plans to give proceeds from the memoir to the foundation she created in Boss’ memory.
“My hope is that that we won’t need to lose another husband, brother, father, or friend to suicide,” she said. “I believe that if Stephen were able to choose, he would choose to have his story told if it meant saving even one life. Much love to all those who have supported our family these many years.”
