‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn’t just entertaining — the series also broke ground in many ways.

The supernatural drama starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as teenage vampire slayer Buffy Summers. Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz, Nicholas Brendon, Anthony Stewart Head, James Marsters, Michelle Trachtenberg and many more were in the cast.

The series, created by Joss Whedon, was based on the 1992 film of the same name and ran for seven seasons on The WB and UPN from 1997 to 2003. The show’s popularity led to the spinoff titled Angel, in which Boreanaz starred for five seasons.

Buffy was praised for featuring a strong feminist hero and showcasing an LGBTQ romance between Hannigan’s character Willow Rosenberg and Amber Benson’s Tara Maclay.

However, a dark cloud came over Buffy in February 2021 when Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase, accused Whedon of creating a toxic work environment on the set. Whedon has yet to address the accusations.

Sarah Michelle Gellar — Gellar was a ‘90s sensation on the big screen leading up to Buffy, and she continued to find diverse work after the series. She first reprised her role as Daphne Blake in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed before starring in The Grudge franchise and other films including Veronika Decides to Die and Do Revenge. She found her groove with TV gigs such as Ringer and The Crazy Ones, and she lent her voice to characters on Robot Chicken, American Dad! and Star Wars Rebels. She cofounded the cooking company Foodstirs in 2015 and authored a cookbook, Stirring Up Fun with Food, in 2017. In January 2023, Gellar returned to TV in the Paramount+ show, Wolf Pack, where she also serves as an executive producer.
Gellar shares daughter Charlotte and son Rocky with husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

Alyson Hannigan — Hannigan went on to star on How I Met Your Mother for nine seasons as Lily Aldrin. She returned for two more American Pie films — 2003’s American Wedding and 2012’s American Reunion. Additionally, she lent her voice to characters on American Dad! and King of the Hill. She also guest-starred on shows including Veronica Mars and That ‘70s Show. Hannigan hosted the shows Girl Scout Cookie Championship and Penn & Teller: Fool Us and competed on season 32 of Dancing With the Stars.
Hannigan shares daughters Satyana and Keeva with husband Alexis Denisof, a fellow Buffy alum.

David Boreanaz — Boreanaz continued to star on the Buffy spinoff, Angel, for one more season after its predecessor concluded. Though he appeared in films including Officer Down, his biggest post-Buffy roles were on prominent TV series. He played Seeley Booth on Bones for 12 seasons and has played Jason Hayes on SEAL Team since 2017.
Boreanaz has been married to Jaime Bergman since 2001. They share son Jaden and daughter Bella.

Nicholas Brendon — Brendon had roles on Kitchen Confidential, Criminal Minds, Faking It and Hollywood Heights after Buffy wrapped. He also voiced a character on the former Disney Channel series American Dragon: Jake Long. He’s appeared in films including Coherence in 2013 and The Nanny.
As for his personal life, Brendon voluntarily entered rehab for alcoholism in 2004. He checked into treatment for the second time in 2015 for depression, alcoholism and substance abuse. He was married to Tressa DiFiglia from 2001 to 2007 and Moonda Tee from 2014 to 2015.

Anthony Stewart Head — After appearing in 123 episodes of Buffy, Head primarily found success on TV. He’s held prominent and recurring roles on shows including Merlin, Little Britain, Still Star-Crossed and Ted Lasso. Head’s also dabbled in voiceover work, lending vocals to video game characters such as Isaac Newton in Assassin’s Creed: Gold.
Head has been in a relationship with Sarah Fisher since 1984. They share daughters Emily and Daisy.

James Marsters — Marsters notably appeared on Runaways and in the Hawaii Five-0 reboot after Buffy, but he also had roles on Smallville, Supernatural and Witches of East End. He’s lent his voice to numerous animated characters on shows including The Super Hero Squad Show and Dragon Ball Super. In addition to landing roles in films like P.S. I Love You, he’s also been a part of musical group Ghost of the Robot since 2002 and started a solo music career in 2004.
After his marriage to Liane Davidson ended in 1997, he wed Patricia Rahman in 2011, although the pair separated 10 years later. He shares a son named Sullivan with Davidson. When he was 40, Marsters adopted his then-5-year-old niece after his brother was unable to care for her.

Emma Caulfield — Caulfield primarily found TV gigs after Buffy ended. The actress appeared on shows including Life Unexpected, Gigantic, Once Upon a Time and WandaVision. She’s additionally starred in the films TiMER and Removal. She is set to star in Marvel Studios' upcoming series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum was married to Cornelius Grobbelaar from 2006 to 2010. She tied the knot again in 2017 to Mark Ford, with whom she shares daughter Knightley.

Michelle Trachtenberg — After Buffy, Trachtenberg went on to star in movies including EuroTrip, Ice Princess and 17 Again. She also starred on Mercy and nabbed recurring roles on shows such as Gossip Girl, Weeds and Guidance. In 2018, she lent her voice to Judy Reilly on the Facebook Watch animated series Human Kind Of. She reprised the role of Georgina Sparks in 2022 and 2023 for HBO Max's Gossip Girl reboot.
Us Weekly confirmed in February 2025 that Trachtenberg died at the age of 39.

Charisma Carpenter — Though Carpenter appeared in films such as The Expendables and Mail Order Monster after Buffy, she primarily landed television gigs. She’s appeared on The Lying Game, Veronica Mars and Greek. She also hosted the true-crime series Surviving Evil for Investigation Discovery, for which she also served as executive producer and consulting producer.
Carpenter got divorced from Damian Hardy, with whom she shares son Donovan, in 2008.

Kristine Sutherland — When Buffy ended, Sutherland took time away from acting and enrolled in a photography course at Santa Monica College. She then opened up her own studio, which specialized in portraits. She didn’t have another onscreen role again until 2008, when she guest-starred on two episodes of Comanche Moon. She also appeared on One Life to Live and The Following.
The University of Kentucky grad has been married to John Pankow since 1986. The couple share a daughter named Eleanore.

Seth Green — Green had a successful career before coming onto Buffy, and he continued to find his groove in Hollywood thereafter. Green notably voices Chris Griffin on Family Guy and has lent his voice to various characters on Robot Chicken, an Emmy-winning stop-motion series he co-created, co-produces, writes and directs for Adult Swim. He’s also appeared on Four Kings, Dads, That ‘70s Show and starred in films including Without a Paddle and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. He wrote and directed his first film in 2019 called Changeland.
The actor has been married to Clare Grant since 2010.

Eliza Dushku — After Buffy, Dushku starred on Dollhouse, Tru Calling and voiced multiple characters on Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. She also landed roles in films including Locked In and Eloise. In 2007, the Bring It On star founded her own production company called Boston Diva Productions. She has been married to Peter Palandjian since 2018 and they share two children together, Philip and Bodan.

Marc Blucas — Following Buffy, Blucas starred in several films including Knight and Day, The Jane Austen Book Club and Sleeping with Other People. He also had recurring and leading TV roles on The Fix, Underground and Necessary Roughness.
Blucas married journalist Ryan Haddon in 2009. He is a stepfather to Haddon’s kids Jaden and Eliana from her previous marriage to Christian Slater.

Amber Benson — Since Buffy ended, Benson has appeared in movies including The Killing Jar and on shows such as Morganville: The Series. Behind the camera, she put her writing skills to work on the Ghosts of Albion series and directed on projects like 2010’s Drones. Outside of TV and film, she narrated the audiobook for John Scalzi’s Lock In and authored her own fantasy book series called The Witches of Echo Park.
Benson split from boyfriend Adam Busch in 2009 after seven years together.

Danny Strong — Strong had recurring roles on Billions, Mad Men and Gilmore Girls after Buffy. He also appeared in films including Sydney White and Weather Girl. Strong also found success behind the camera, writing and co-creating Fox’s hit musical drama, Empire. He cowrote the screenplays for the final two Hunger Games films and penned the script for Lee Daniels’ The Butler. He also wrote and directed Rebel in the Rye, a biopic based on Catcher in the Rye author J.D. Salinger’s life.
He has been engaged to actress Caitlin Mehner since 2016.

Tom Lenk — Lenk continued to find TV work after Buffy on shows including Witches of East End, NCIS: Hawai’i, Batwoman and Eastsiders. Additionally, Argo, The Cabin in the Woods, Boogeyman 2 and Date Movie are among the growing list of films he’s appeared in. He also wrote and starred in the 2015 documentary Nerdgasm. He has also found success as a comedic content creator, making viral videos on Instagram and TikTok.

Juliet Landau — Landau primarily did animated voice roles after Buffy including on Ben 10: Alien Force and Justice League Unlimited. She also lent her voice to video game characters in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea. Additionally, she tried her hand at writing and directing in 2016’s docuseries The Undead Series and had a recurring role on Amazon Prime Video’s Bosch in 2019.
She’s been married to Deverill Weekes since 2009.

Mercedes McNab — McNab’s last onscreen role was in the 2011 TV movie Glass Heels. Leading up to that point, she starred in the films Hatchet II and Dark Reel. She also appeared on multiple shows including the Buffy spinoff Angel, Psych and Supernatural. The actress wed Mark Henderson in 2012 and they share a daughter named Vaunne.

Alexis Denisof — Denisof’s Buffy character Wesley Wyndam-Pryce continued to appear on Angel after the WB series wrapped. He then nabbed leading roles on shows including Grimm and Finding Carter, but he also had a recurring role on Hannigan’s series How I Met Your Mother. He’s also appeared on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Legacies and H+. Additionally, he landed a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as The Other — a character that popped up in The Avengers in 2012 and Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.

Julie Benz — The many shows Benz notably appeared on after Buffy include On Becoming a God in Central Florida, Defiance, Hawaii Five-0, No Ordinary Family and Dexter. She’s additionally popped up in movies including Saw V, Rambo and Punisher: War Zone. Her divorce from John Kassir was finalized in 2007 and she married Rich Orosco in 2012.

Nathan Fillion — Though Fillion has starred in movies like Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters after Buffy, he mostly had success landing prominent TV roles. He appeared on Firefly, Desperate Housewives and A Series of Unfortunate Events. However, his biggest TV roles post-Buffy were on Castle and The Rookie. He’s additionally lent his voice to characters on The Venture Bros. and Big Mouth.

The loss of a Hollywood great is never easy, but in certain cases, a star’s passing comes long before it was their time to go.

Talents like Amy Winehouse, Prince, Whitney Houston, Cory Monteith and Robin Williams all left this world abruptly and without warning.

Stars including Chadwick Boseman, Willie Garson and Norm Macdonald all fought private battles with cancer.

Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016. After quietly fighting the disease — and filming numerous movies, including Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom — he died in August 2020 at the age of 43.

While some of Hollywood’s greatest talents were taken too soon, including Bob Saget, who passed away in January 2022 at age 65, other stars left fans wanting more … even if they lived into their 90s. That was the case when Betty White died on New Year’s Eve 2021 at age 99.

Liam Payne — In October 2024, Us confirmed that the former One Direction member died at age 31. He fell from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina.

Charlie Colin — Colin, who was the bassist for the band Train, died in May 2024 at the age of 58. He died after accidentally falling in the shower, which his mother confirmed to TMZ.

Matthew Perry — In October 2023, Perry passed away at age 54 following an apparent drowning. He was found in a jacuzzi by law enforcement who had responded to a call about someone suffering from a cardiac arrest.

Angus Cloud — The Euphoria actor died in July 2023 at age 25. Cloud’s passing came one week after he buried his father. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” the actor’s family said in a statement at the time. “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”
Cloud’s loved ones added: “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss — The former So You Think You Can Dance contestant died at age 40 in December 2022. His wife, Allison Holker, addressed the news in a heartbreaking statement soon after.
"To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children," she told People. "Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you."
The couple tied the knot in December 2013 and raised three children together.

Ray Liotta — Deadline reported in May 2022 that the No Sudden Move star died in his sleep. He was 67.

Bob Saget — The Full House alum was found unresponsive in January 2022 in his Florida hotel room while in town for a comedy show. He was pronounced dead at the scene at age 65. One month later, authorities concluded that Saget passed from “head trauma” after he “accidentally hit the back of his head on something,” according to a statement from his family.“Every day it feels a little bit better, but then it’ll hit you outta nowhere,” Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget’s eldest TV daughter on Full House, told Us in February 2022 of his passing. “I will really greatly miss his friendship and the laughs and the hugs.”

Betty White — While the Golden Girls alum lived a long life — and had a very successful career in Hollywood — her death in December 2021 shocked her fans as it came just shy of her 100th birthday. The legendary actress passed away on New Year’s Eve at age 99. Her milestone birthday was on January 17, 2022.Us confirmed in January 2022 that White suffered a cerebrovascular accident, according to her death certificate. The incident causes tissue damage as a result of losing blood flow to the brain. The Hot in Cleveland alum previously suffered a stroke several days before her death.

Willie Garson — The Sex and the City alum’s September 2021 death at age 57 came as a surprise to much of Hollywood. It was later confirmed that the actor, who was in production on And Just Like That when he died, had been fighting pancreatic cancer.“So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson. We all loved him and adored working with him,” former costar Cynthia Nixon tweeted at the time. “He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional — always.”

Norm Macdonald — The Saturday Night Live alum died in September 2021 at age 61. The comedian privately battled cancer for nearly 10 years before his passing. “He was most proud of his comedy,” his longtime producing partner, Lori Jo Hoekstra, told Us in a statement at the time. “He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him. Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”

Dustin Diamond — The Saved by the Bell alum died at the age of 44 in February 2021, just three weeks after being diagnosed with stage IV small cell carcinoma. “In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution," his rep said in a statement to Us. “Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

The Black Panther star died at the age of 43 in August 2020 at his Los Angeles home after secretly battling colon cancer for four years. “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the family said in a statement at the time. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.”

Naya Rivera — The former Glee star died in July 2020, following a boating incident where she went missing. On July 8, the actress, who was 33, was declared missing after taking a pontoon boat out on Lake Piru near Los Angeles with her 4-year-old son, Josey. Her child was found asleep on the vessel by a boater that afternoon, alongside Rivera’s purse, wallet and ID. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department announced on July 13 that they recovered her body following an extensive search and recovery effort.

Kobe Bryant — The former L.A. Lakers player died in January 2020 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. He was 41. The 18-time NBA All-Star was traveling with eight other people on his private helicopter when a fire reportedly broke out on board. Witnesses reported the helicopter going down quickly and then slamming into the ground, Fire Capt. Tony Imbrenda told KTLA. Bryant's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was also killed in the crash.

Cameron Boyce — The Grown Ups actor’s family confirmed his death at age 20 in July 2019. “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated,” a statement read at the time. "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

Luke Perry — The Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star died at the age of 52 on March 4, 2019. He had suffered a massive stroke five days earlier at his Los Angeles-area home, and remained hospitalized until his death. “[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, stepfather Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder and other close family and friends,” his rep said in a statement to Us. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”

Mac Miller — The rapper died at age 26 on September 7, 2018. The LAPD confirmed to Us that authorities responded to his home in the San Fernando Valley, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. TMZ reported that he died from an apparent overdose.

The celebrity chef died of an apparent suicide in France at the age of 61. "It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” CNN said in a statement on June 8. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."

Kate Spade — The 55-year-old designer was found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York apartment on June 5, 2018.

Avicii — The Swedish DJ and producer, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on April 20, 2018, at age 28. The Grammy-nominated artist retired in 2016 due to health issues, including acute pancreatitis.

Mark Salling — The Glee alum died at age 35 on January 30, 2017. The LAPD confirmed to Us Weekly that he passed away from an apparent suicide just three months after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. He was facing 7 years in jail.

The rock legend died at the age of 66 on October 2 after suffering cardiac arrest. The Grammy winner was best known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the group behind hits including "Free Fallin'" and "American Girl." The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Chester Bennington — The Linkin Park lead vocalist died at age 41 on July 20, 2017. According to TMZ, the singer reportedly passed away from an apparent suicide at a private residence in the Palos Verdes Estates neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Chris Cornell — The Soundgarden frontman died at age 52 on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, after the band played a sold-out concert in Detroit. He was found dead in his hotel room by a family friend. The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office said in a statement to Us Weekly that the musician’s cause of death was “hanging by suicide.”

Christopher “Big Black” Boykin — The Rob & Big star died at the age of 45 on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. According to TMZ, he died of heart failure in a Texas hospital.

Florence Henderson — The Brady Bunch alum died of heart failure at the age of 82 in November 2016. According to TMZ, her death certificate revealed that she had suffered from heart disease for a decade and was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat five years before her death.

Bill Paxton — The Titanic and Big Love star died at age 61 in February 2017. He suffered an aortic aneurysm and required surgery, but had a stroke during the valve replacement operation.

Mary Tyler Moore — The iconic actress died at age 80 in January 2017 from cardiopulmonary arrest. TMZ reported that aspiration pneumonia, diabetes mellitus and hypoxia (lack of oxygen to the tissues) also contributed to her death.

Alan Thicke — The Growing Pains star, dad of R&B singer Robin Thicke, died of a heart attack at the age of 69 in December 2016. He was reportedly playing hockey with his son Carter before he was transported to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, California.

Erin Moran — The Happy Days actress died at her home in New Salisbury, Indiana, from complications of stage IV cancer in April 2017. She was 56.

Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher — The Star Wars actress died at the age of 60 on December 27, 2016, from cardiac arrest. One day later, her famous mother passed away at the age of 84 following a medical emergency, believed to be a stroke.

George Michael — The former Wham! singer died with a weakened heart and a damaged liver in December 2016 at age 53. He was found unresponsive at his home Oxfordshire, England, by his boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, on Christmas Day.

Diem Brown — The MTV Challenge star died in November 2014 at the age of 32, after losing her brave battle with cancer. Having overcome the disease in 2006 and again in 2012, the reality star was diagnosed with cancer for the third time in summer 2014. Still, Brown&apos;s fierce fight to survive continued to inspire many. In one of her final tweets, she wrote: "Whatever option I have to LIVE I&apos;m grabbing! … No is not an option."

Misty Upham's body was discovered in a wooded area near Seattle in October 2014. The August: Osage County star was 32 years old. Her cause of death has yet to be determined.

The Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker’s life was cut tragically short in November 2013. While going for a drive with friend and business advisor Roger Rodas after a charity event, the car collided with a pole, engulfing the car in flames and killing both Walker and Rodas, who was behind the wheel. Walker was 40 at the time of his death.

The world got a little less funny in August 2014 when Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams died at age 63. The troubled star committed suicide after years of battling depression. He was honored later that month at the Emmys in a special tribute from his close friend Billy Crystal.

Amy Winehouse — In July 2011, the British soul singer was found dead in her London apartment at the age of 27. After a history of substance abuse, Winehouse’s death was a result of consuming too much alcohol, according to the coroner.

Glee star Cory Monteith’s life was cut tragically short in July 2013 when he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel at the age of 31. Monteith had been open about past struggles with addiction and substance abuse, checking himself into rehab multiple times. His cause of death was an overdose on heroin and alcohol.

Philip Seymour Hoffman — The Oscar-winning actor was found dead in his New York City apartment in February 2014. The admitted drug addict died at age 46 of a heroin overdose, leaving behind his longtime partner and three children.

Another comedy great passed away in September 2014 when Joan Rivers died at age 81 after suffering complications from a minor throat surgery. The shocking loss led to an outpouring from Hollywood stars, praising the Fashion Police’s unmerciful critiques and trailblazing comedy.

Michael Jackson — The King of Pop died suddenly at the age of 50 after suffering a cardiac arrest in June 2009. His death, however, was ruled a homicide. His personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is the target of a manslaughter investigation for giving the singer — who was known for his ever-changing appearance, odd relationships and child sexual abuse accusations — the drug Propofol on several occasions.

Heath Ledger — The Brokeback Mountain actor was found dead in his New York City apartment January 22, 2008. The 28-year-old is survived by his ex Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda.

Grammy-winning, iconic pop diva Whitney Houston was found dead in the bathtub in February 2012 at the age of 48. The vocal legend drowned after a drug overdose at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

"Bernie Mac was the personification of the word &apos;real.&apos; He kept it real," Mac&apos;s former costar Niecy Nash told Us. "That kind of genuine spirit that he carried all the time cannot be easily duplicated, but I will do my very best to try."

Kurt Cobain — The lead singer of the iconic band Nirvana battled depression and addiction before committing suicide at the age of 27 in April 1994. He is survived by wife Courtney Love and their daughter, Francis Bean.

Farrah Fawcett — When she was 62, the Charlie&apos;s Angels star — whose 1976 swimsuit poster is one of the most iconic ever made — chronicled her lengthy battle with anal cancer for an NBC documentary that aired a month before she died in June 2009. Although they didn&apos;t have time to do so, the bedridden actress and longtime beau Ryan O&apos;Neal announced plans to wed.

DJ AM — The celebrity spinner, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, died in August 2009 of an apparent drug overdose at the age of 36. The star — who battled drug addictions and had attempted suicide before getting sober more than 10 years ago — survived a tragic plane crash that had left him critically injured.

River Phoenix — The gifted actor — acclaimed for Stand by Me and My Own Private Idaho — died from a lethal mix of cocaine and heroin outside of a West Hollywood club in October 1993. He was 23.

Anna Nicole Smith — The 39-year-old model, reality television star and Playboy Playmate died in February 2007, just five months after the death of her 20-year-old son. Both died from accidental overdoses. She is survived by daughter Dannielynn, the sole heir to her estate, who is now under the custody of father Larry Birkhead.

Tupac Shakur — The rapper and poet was just 25 when he was killed in a 1996 drive-by shooting.

Steve Irwin — The Crocodile Hunter died at the age of 44 when his heart was pierced by the poisonous spine of a stingray in September 2006. He was videotaped removing the barb before he lost consciousness.

Jonathan Brandis — The SeaQuest DSV star hanged himself at age 27 at his L.A. home in November 2003. No suicide note was left, though he reportedly drank heavily and felt depressed about his career.

Aaliyah — The Grammy-nominated R&B singer died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in August 2001. The 22-year-old had numerous hit songs to her name and was due to costar in the sequel to The Matrix.

Brad Renfro — The actor, best known for his role in the 1994 thriller The Client, died on January 15, 2008, the victim of a possible overdose. Though he had long struggled with substance abuse and legal woes, the 25-year-old was turning a corner and hoped to reunite with his 4-year-old son, who lived in Japan.

The Sopranos star James Gandolfini suffered a heart attack at age 51 in June 2013. The Emmy-winning actor was traveling in Italy at the time of his death.

Notorious B.I.G. — The rapper (also known as Biggie Smalls, Biggie and Big Poppa) — who worked with artists including Sean Combs, Lil&apos; Kim, Faith Evans, and Jay Z — was shot dead following the 1997 Soul Train Music Awards. He was 24.

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes — Lopes was the 'L' in the Grammy-winning R&B trio TLC. She died at the age of 30 in a car accident in Honduras in 2002, where she was on a spiritual retreat.

James Dean — The teen heartthrob, known for his starring role in Rebel Without a Cause, died in a car accident in 1955 at the age of 24.

Tim Russert — The host of NBC&apos;s Meet the Press and the Washington Bureau Chief for the network died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 58 in 2008. He is survived by wife Maureen Orth and their son Luke.

Brittany Murphy — The Clueless star died at age 32 after she collapsed in her Los Angeles home. She was transported to the hospital where she went into cardiac arrest. Though her death was ruled natural at the time, Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti claimed his daughter was murdered, but no evidence of this has been produced.

Chris Farley — The comedian, known for movies such as Tommy Boy and his time on Saturday Night Live, died in 1997 from an overdose of cocaine and morphine at the age of 33.

Phil Hartman — The NewsRadio actor, 49, was shot to death by his wife, Brynn, in 1998. Brynn killed herself later that same night.

Adrienne Shelly — The actress, 40, who appeared in the 2005 film Factotum was murdered in 2006.

Brandon Lee — The Kung Fu actor died at the age of 28 in 1993 when a gun malfunctioned while filming The Crow.

Singer/songwriter Isaac Hayes died August 10, 2008 in Memphis, Tenn., after being found unresponsive at his home. A cause of death is unknown. Hayes, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, was scheduled to release his next album a month after his death.

British socialite and TV personality Peaches Geldof died in April 2014 at the age of 25. The daughter of world-famous musician Bob Geldof left behind her husband Thomas Cohen and two children after overdosing on heroin.

David Strickland — The 29-year-old actor — with roles in the sitcom Suddenly Susan and the 1999 romantic comedy Forces of Nature — committed suicide in a Las Vegas motel room in March 1999. The previous year he was arrested for cocaine possession and was ordered to enter rehab.

MTV Buckwild star Shain Gandee (Gandee Candy) died at age 21 in April 2013 after the car he was driving was submerged in mud, killing the reality star and his two passengers.

After battling an ongoing addiction problem for the past few years, That &apos;70s Show actress Lisa Robin Kelly (she played Topher Grace&apos;s older sister, Laurie Forman, on the Fox comedy) died in her sleep at a rehab facility in California on Aug. 14, 2013. She was 43.

Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young committed suicide at the age of 29 in August 2013. The actor, who was starring on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, got his start on Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson, in the title role.

Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand, who competed on Jake Pavelka’s season of the hit reality show in 2010, committed suicide in August 2013 at the age of 29. Fellow Bachelor alums were quick to convey their condolences, and Pavelka tweeted, “I had to pull over, I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel.”

Before his season of The Bachelorette even aired, contestant Eric Hill’s life was cut tragically short at the age of 31 when he suffered a fatal paragliding accident in April 2014. At the time he had already been eliminated from Andi Dorfman’s season of the ABC reality series.

The icon — who released 39 studio albums, won seven Grammys and an Academy Award, and was known for hits including "Purple Rain," "Kiss," "Little Red Corvette" and "When Doves Cry," among many others — died at his Paisley Park residence in Minnesota on April 21, 2016, at 57. While his autopsy results have yet to be released, Prince was found with prescription painkillers in his possession at the time of his death. The DEA and U.S. Attorney’s Office joined the ongoing investigation into his death, and investigators are looking into whether a doctor was prescribing drugs to him prior to his death, and are considering a possible overdose.

Bobbi Kristina Brown — Brown, the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, was found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home in January 2015. She remained in a medically induced coma and was eventually moved to hospice care until she died at just 22 years old on July 26, 2015, nearly six months after she was found unconscious. The late R&B scion died as a result of drowning and drug intoxication, according to the autopsy results.

The WWE star was found dead at 46 on April 20, 2016, at her Redondo Beach, California, home. Though an official cause of death has yet to be determined, Chyna’s tragic passing was reported as a possible overdose to the Los Angeles County coroner’s department. After retiring from the world of wrestling, Chyna posed for Playboy and appeared in adult films and on reality TV, including the shows The Surreal Life and Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Most recently, she was working as an English teacher in Japan.

Vanity, the lead singer of girl group Vanity 6 and former protégé of Prince, died at age 57 from kidney failure and an abdominal illness on February 15, 2016. The pop star (née Denise Katrina Matthews) found fame after releasing her 1982 hit, "Nasty Girl," which was written and produced by the "Purple Rain" singer.

David Bowie — The iconic visionary died peacefully at his home on January 10, 2016, at the age of 69, following a private 18-month battle with liver cancer. Prior to his death, his wife, supermodel Iman, shared a telling quote on social media: “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” Bowie released his last album, Blackstar, just two days before his death. He and Iman welcomed their only child, daughter Alexandria, in 2000.

The beloved comedian died at the age of 66 on March 24, 2016. Stars such as Jimmy Kimmel, Andy Cohen, Ricky Gervais and Kathy Griffin shared their grief on social media. He was best known for his standout role on The Larry Sanders Show. In January, Shandling appeared on Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and revealed that he had been diagnosed with a hyper parathryroid disorder. Ironically, the episode was titled “It’s Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive.” His cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but The Associated Press reported that it was likely a heart attack.

Natalie Cole died at age 65 from heart failure induced by lung disease on December 31, 2015. The “Miss You Like Crazy” songstress suffered a myriad of health complications during her lifetime. She was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, which she had said she believed she contracted from her heroin use in the ’80s (and required a kidney transplant in 2009). However, she made a comeback with the release her 1987 album, Everlasting. But her return to fame reached a critical peak with her 1991 album, Unforgettable Love. The Grammy-winning record was a tribute to her late father, the great Nat King Cole, and was comprised of his songs, with the feature being “Unforgettable,” a duet that came about by remixing the elder Cole’s 1951 recording with Natalie’s performance.

Unlike some other ceremonies, the SAG Awards give celebs a chance to show off their style and pack a little extra punch with their outfits.

While the show never fails to serve up glitz and glamour, it’s garnered quite a reputation for out-of-the-box outfits. There’s never a shortage of buzz-worthy ensembles, from jumpsuits to sequins or daring dresses.

Perhaps one of the show’s most iconic outfits came to pass in 2010 when Kate Hudson slayed in a backless Emilio Pucci gown that was seemingly a page of Andy Anderson’s playbook. The actress topped best-dressed lists across the board with a low hem that showed off her toned physique and delicate silver detailing.

Unfortunately, not all red-carpet moments are as amazing as Hudson’s. In 2014, Meryl Streep made headlines in a black dress designed by Stella McCartney. Even though the star can do no wrong in our eyes, many thought the gown looked like a skirt that was pulled up above her shoulders.

Best Glitz Moment — Lady Gaga rocked a stunning white Armani gown in 2022.

Worst Turtleneck Ensemble — Jada Pinkett Smith's navy blue vintage Gareth Pugh dress left a little more to be desired.

Best Sweetheart Neckline — For the 2021 event, Cynthia Erivo stunned in a blush-colored Alexander McQueen gown. She accessorized the look with Forevermark jewels.

Worst Footwear — While the Schitt’s Creek actress rocked the menswear-inspired look in 2021, her shoes should have made more of a statement.

Best Sequin — At the 2020 ceremony, Lupita Nyong’o dazzled in a black and white Louis Vuitton dress that featured 20,000 sequins and 12,000 glass beads. She accessorized the look with Forevermark jewels.

Worst Print — While Margo Robbie’s natural makeup looked stunning at the 2020 awards, her plaid Chanel Halter dress missed the mark.

Best Off-the-Shoulder — Mandy Moore looked gorgeous at the 2019 event in a sleek Jason Wu gown with a beaded off-the-shoulder neckline. She paired the dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and Niwaka jewels.

Best Princess Moment — Dakota Fanning stunned at the 2018 awards in shimmering soft peach Prada gown with diamante detail at the trim.

Best Jumpsuit — Yara Shahidi's jumpsuit isn't technically a gown, but that's one of the reasons it stood out! With a chic train and pockets, this Ralph Lauren Collection number was the star of the 2018 red carpet.

Best Metallic Moment — Michelle Williams' striped silver and gold sequin Louis Vuitton number with neck piece was as chic as was flattering.

Best Use of Feathers — Nicole Kidman’s plunging emerald sequin Gucci gown with parrot shoulders was a showstopper.

Worst Panty Show — Kate Hudson’s Christian Dior gown's caped sleeves looked luxe but the visible underwear band detracted.

Best Nearly Naked Dress — Taraji P. Henson turned heads in a sheer-top Reem Acra nude gown with silver embellishments and Nirav Modi jewelry.

Worst Jumpsuit — While Gwendoline Christie’s Vivienne Westwood Couture sequin one-piece looked chic, it failed to flatter the Game of Thrones’ actresses body.

Best Glam Cutout Gown — Julianne Moore shimmered on the red carpet in a pistachio Givenchy Haute Couture dress and jewelry by Chopard.

Worst Shoe Pairing — Gaby Hoffmann’s long sleeve sequin column gown was glamorous, but the green suede heels threw off the whole look.

Best Pop of Color — Sofia Vergara wowed in a hot pink bodycon column dress by Vera Wang, accessorizing with a matching Jimmy Choo clutch and a statement collar necklace by David Webb.

Best Color-Blocking — Winning! Alicia Vikander, who took home an award for her performance in The Danish Girl, sparkled in a mixed-metal color blocked column gown by Louis Vuitton.

Worst Cutout — Hey, cut it out! Kaley Cuoco picked a one-shouldered black cutout dress by Ramona Keveza that showed off her ab muscles. Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Jimmy Choo heels completed her sultry ensemble.

Best Draping — TKO! Supporting her husband Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves stunned at the 2015 ceremony in this eggplant-hued dress by Donna Karan Atelier, tailored and draped to perfection. She finished with an Aldo clutch.

Worst Sleeves — Boyhood&apos;s Lorelei Linklater hit the 2015 carpet in a black dress with lace-trimmed bell sleeves so large, they completely obscured her arms.

Best Non-Maternity Maternity — Keira Knightley concealed her baby bump in this tiered, purple lace Erdem dress with a sheer neckline.

Best Embellishments — Just one of her stunning 2014 awards season looks, Lupita Nyong'o's teal Gucci dress scored points not only for its vibrant hue, but also for its gorgeous floral neckline. Bonus: She added matching eyeshadow.

Worst Feathers — Perhaps Angie Harmon was inspired by Black Swan when she chose a pink Monique Lhuillier strapless gown adorned with fluffy feathers in 2011.

Best Color Choice — While some fashion critics accused her of copying Michelle Williams' marigold-hued 2006 Oscars dress, it's undeniable that Diane Kruger looked incredible in her vibrant Jason Wu gown in 2010.

Worst Cake Topper — We applaud Sarah Paulson for taking big style risks, but her 2014 Rochas dress—just a bit too ruffled and twee to be taken seriously—just didn't do it for Us.

Worst LBD — We know—Meryl Streep can do no wrong! Nevertheless, she did make a slight style misstep when she chose this unflattering LBD by Stella McCartney in 2014. The elastic waistline made it look like a skirt pulled up to her shoulders!

Best Lace Look — Lovely in lace! Naomi Watts looked gorgeous in a strapless, floor-length, silvery, lace mermaid gown by Marchesa, which she paired with a sweeping side wavy hairstyle and bold red lips in 2013.

Worst Accessory — While fashion critics were divided on Claire Danes' floral-print strapless Louis Vuitton look in 2011, most agreed that she should've ditched the black velvet buckled belt.

Best Print — Mila Kunis wowed in a red Alexander McQueen gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline and dramatic print in 2011.

Worst Tuxedo Style — Mad about this look? Not quite. January Jones turned heads in a black jersey wrap gown with a white organza halter bodice by Prabal Gurung in 2013, but it was her hairstyle and makeup that truly made this overall look a fashion miss.

Best Ombre — After a few years out of the spotlight, Julia Stiles made a stunning return to the red carpet in a Monique Lhullier navy and white ombre gown last year.

Worst Embellishment — As if the pea green color of Jane Krakowski's Catherine Malandrino dress in 2008 wasn't bad enough, the neckline looked like it was made out of exotic fruit.

Best Sparkle — Weeks after wearing a fussy pink ruffled look at the 2011 Golden Globes, Glee's Lea Michele showed off her sexy side in a plunging beaded Oscar de la Renta number.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were once just two friends out on a double date — with other people.

“We went on a double date,” Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly’s SiriusXM show in February 2016. “She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl — and that was, like, the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across.”

Still, Reynolds said he was glad that the two started off as “buddies” before things turned romantic. “I remember it was funny, because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single,” he said of their shared 2010 film. “I think the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends.”

Not only did they go to tie the knot in September 2012, but they have since welcomed four children. Reynolds and Lively share daughters James, Inez and Betty, who were born in 2015, 2016 and 2019, respectively. They welcomed their fourth child, son Olin, in 2023.

Reynolds later praised his spouse for her humor throughout the delivery. “My wife is the real, I mean she is a mercenary,” he told Conan O’Brien in August 2015. “At one point in the middle of the delivery, the doctor’s cell phone went off and she said, ‘Oh, no. Everyone needs a good cry from time to time, and several romance movies will do just the trick.

Some of the most tear-jerking films in recent years have one thing in common. The Notebook, Dear John, The Last Song and A Walk to Remember, to name a few, are all adaptations of Nicholas Sparks books. While Sparks has a talent for making readers and viewers cry, he is a much tougher nut to crack.

“It is tough to make me cry,” the author told The Charlotte Observer in February 2013. He went on to note, “By the time I get to see the film, look, I’ve seen dailies, I’ve seen the script, there’s no surprise, I don’t get that magical feeling of discovering a story. Plus, I wrote the story in the first place.”

While Sparks doesn’t get emotional revisiting his old work, he enjoys seeing others connect to his stories. “Apologies for making you cry for decades!” he jokingly wrote via Facebook in April 2024. “I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I wrote #TheNotebook! I wrote the ending first, and once I knew I could make that work, I wrote the reunion, the prologue and then the rest of the novel.”

At the time, he noted that the Broadway musical adaptation of his 1996 novel and the 2004 film version handed out “special tissues” for emotional theatergoers.

‘The Notebook’

The 2004 adaptation of Sparks’ novel of the same name ensured that romantics everywhere gained a newfound appreciation for making out in the rain. As World War II–era star-crossed lovers, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams offer emotional performances, which may have been helped by the fact that their real-life relationship was fiery from the start: Gosling tried to order McAdams off the set, but the two began dating after the shoot was finished, ultimately parting ways in 2007.

‘Titanic’

Our hearts could not go on after watching this 1997 heartbreaker about Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), who fall in love while aboard the doomed ship. Of course, they didn’t make it in the long run since that wooden panel would only support the weight of one person when the ship went down (though the show Mythbusters disagrees with this logic). The real-life actors remain friends, however, and costarred again in 2008’s Revolutionary Road.

‘Dear John’

Sparks can always be relied upon for inspiring a cathartic sob session. This adaptation of his 2006 novel of the same name follows John (Channing Tatum) and Savannah (Amanda Seyfried), a couple who keep their love alive through letters while John serves in the military post–9/11. She ends up dumping him in one of her notes — harsh — but as with any good romance, that’s not the end of the story.

‘Love Story’

If you haven’t heard of it, ask your mom about this 1970 film. No doubt she can rattle off the famous tagline: “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” Oliver (Ryan O’Neal) and Jennifer (Ali MacGraw) meet as students at Harvard University and Radcliffe College, respectively. Once they marry and try to conceive, they discover the tragic reason why they can’t have kids. We won’t spoil it for you — just grab the tissues and prepare to bawl.

‘Ghost’

Everyone knows the famous pottery wheel scene that’s been spoofed a million times over, but this 1990 film about a woman (Demi Moore) who’s followed by the poltergeist of her murdered lover (Patrick Swayze) is an especially devastating meditation on grieving. Just check out the scene where the ghost, via a medium played by Whoopi Goldberg, offers his love a penny for good luck.

‘Brokeback Mountain’

The tender performances of Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, who play two cowboys fighting their love for each other in the conservative 1960s and ’70s Midwest, earned both actors Oscar nominations (Ledger for best actor and Gyllenhaal for best supporting actor) in 2006.

‘The Way We Were’

Opposites attract, but can they make it work long-term? That’s the dilemma for strident political activist Katie (Barbra Streisand) and charming, lackadaisical screenwriter Hubbell (Robert Redford) in this 1973 drama. Though initially drawn to each other’s differences, the couple’s dynamic threatens to tear them apart as they marry and have a daughter. In the end, all that’s left is Streisand’s title song, which many a brokenhearted soul has bawled over.

‘The Last Song’

While the love story of this Sparks book-to-movie adaptation centers around Miley Cyrus’ Veronica “Ronnie” Miller and Liam Hemsworth’s Will Blakelee, the emotional center of the film lies with Ronnie’s relationship with her father, Steve (Greg Kinnear). Ronnie falls for Will while spending the summer in Georgia with her dad, who she doesn’t know is secretly battling cancer (bet you can guess what happens next).

‘A Star Is Born’

There have been several versions of A Star Is Born over the years, but none have such an emotional punch as the 2018 version starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. After musician Jackson Maine (Cooper) falls in love with aspiring singer-songwriter Ally Campana (Gaga), the pair’s relationship faces ups and downs as Ally’s star begins to rise. On top of it all, Jack is forced to deal with his own internal demons, which ultimately lead to a tragic end for the couple.

‘A Walk to Remember’

In one of the most famous Sparks adaptations, popular guy in school Landon Carter (Shane West) catches feelings for the quiet and conservative Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) while being forced to participate in their high school play — going against Jamie’s request for him not to fall in love with her. Landon eventually comes to learn the reason behind Jamie’s rule, as she reveals that she has leukemia. The 2002 movie follows the couple’s romance as Landon vows to stay by Jamie’s side until the end.

Several romantic movies have continued to pull on fans’ heartstrings — and not just on Valentine’s Day.

The Notebook, for example, has become a classic watch for those looking to shed a happy tear. The 2004 movie adaptation of the beloved Nicholas Sparks novel follows the love story of Noah (Ryan Gosling) and Allie (Rachel McAdams) from their first meeting in the 1940s to their final days together.

While the movie turned Gosling into a Hollywood heartthrob, the actor previously revealed he wasn’t cast with that status in mind. “[Director Nick Cassavetes] straight up told me, ‘The fact that you have no natural leading man qualities is why I want you to be my leading man,’” Gosling revealed in a May 2023 interview with GQ.

The film quickly became known for its iconic rain kiss scene. According to McAdams, however, the scene wasn’t as glamorous to shoot as it looked on screen. “It didn’t rain when we needed it to,” she told Good Morning America in April 2024. “They had to pump rain from the bottom of the lake through fire hoses and then pelt us with it.”

Longtime bachelor George Clooney finally met his match in the stunning, accomplished human rights lawyer Amal Clooney. Still, it took Amal a little bit to accept that their romance was the real deal.

“We never talked about marriage when we were dating, and I asked her out of the blue,” George told CBS in November 2020. “[It] took her a long time to say yes. I was on my knee for, like, 20 minutes. I finally said, ‘Look, I’m gonna throw my hip out.’ We told that story to her parents, and they’re like, ‘There’s something wrong with his hip?’”

The pair first met while in Lake Como, Italy, in 2013. Later that year, they had their first date in London. The two got married in a fantasy wedding at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice, Italy, in September 2014.

Us Weekly broke the news in November 2014 that the 7th Heaven alum and former ‘NSync singer were expecting their first child together. In April 2015, the duo welcomed their son Silas and second son Phineas followed five years later.

The pair’s relationship was tested in November 2019 when photos surfaced of Timberlake holding hands with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright. The musician publicly apologized for a “strong lapse in judgment” and privately worked to make it up to Biel.

A source told Us exclusively that despite the pictures that surfaced, the two are “just friends.” The images caused fans to think Timberlake’s marriage to Biel was on rocky terrain since he didn’t appear to be wearing his wedding ring at the time.

A month after PDA-filled photos surfaced of Timberlake and his Palmer costar, the musician issued a public apology to his wife and his fans. “A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar,” Timberlake wrote in a statement posted on Instagram in December 2019. “I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son.”

The singer turned heads when she arrived at the 64th Grammy Awards wearing a one-shoulder black and white gown by Armani Privé. The look featured a sweeping white train and open back — which she completed with an updo that showed off her jewelry by Tiffany & Co.

Gaga’s stunning appearance at the awards show came after she previously paid tribute to David Bowie‘s Life on Mars music video with bold blood orange hair and fierce eye makeup. For the New York native, the late musician “changed” her life with his music.

“Well, the moment that I saw the Aladdin Sane cover for the first time, I was 19 years old, and it just changed my perspective on everything, forever,” she said on NPR in 2016, shortly after her Grammys appearance. “It was an image that changed my life.”

In 2019, Charlize Theron shared a photo of herself in front of the sign for Peter Weber‘s season of The Bachelor — and she’s not shy about sharing that.

“I love the show,” she told Entertainment Tonight the following year. “Look, he’s like half my age — not that that should matter, but, no, he’s great. I’m super excited. I love the show. I’ve missed it. And I’m just so glad that the show premieres in the winter when it’s dark early because my kids don’t know what time I send them to bed but like 5:45pm. As soon as it’s dark, [I watch The Bachelor].”

Jennifer Aniston is also a big fan. Celebrity hairstylist Justin Anderson revealed in 2021 that she often asks him about his work with Bachelor Nation.

“It’s so funny because when I would do Bachelor people and I would post it to social media Jennifer Aniston, the next time I would see her she’s like, ‘Wait did you just meet so-and-so?'” he said during an episode of the “Click Bait With Bachelor Nation” podcast. “Like, we would talk about it. She’s definitely a fan!”

"It was so adorable,” Kendall shared on an episode of The Kardashians when describing a moment from The Golden Bachelor. “He was just so lovely when he gave the first impression rose to the first women, ahh bless your soul!"

Bachelor in Paradise star Abigail Heringer confirmed Hadid is a fan of Bachelor Nation after running into her at an event.
“When we were in Las Vegas, we went to this restaurant opening,” Heringer shared via her Instagram Story in February 2024. “Bella Hadid walked by me, and [my husband] Noah [Erb] was there as witness. She walked by me and literally says, ‘Oh my gosh I love you!’”

Jessica Simpson‘s relationships have made headlines through the years, from brief flings, marriages and more.

The “Take My Breath Away” singer notably began dating Nick Lachey in 1999. After an on-and-off romance, they went on to tie the knot in October 2002 and subsequently landed their own Newlyweds reality TV show. After nearly four years of marriage, they ultimately called it quits.

“It breaks my heart that I couldn’t make Jessica happy. I wanted to be everything to my wife,” Lachey — who later married Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo) in July 2011 — recalled to Rolling Stone in April 2006. “I wanted her to look at me with love in her eyes, the way she did at the beginning, and have her feel like I was the most wonderful, awe-inspiring man on the planet. And when that stopped, it was the worst feeling in the world.”

The Texas native has been equally candid about their short-lived marriage, even calling Nick her “first love” in her Open Book memoir.

“Nick loved the fact I was so strong in my faith and that I had this wide-eyed innocent approach to life. When he proposed in 2002, I said yes,” Simpson wrote in the book, which was published in 2020. “We were young and pioneering our way through reality television, always mic’ed and always on. We worked and we were great at it but when it came time to being alone, we weren’t great at it anymore.”

She added at the time: “I was 22, and I had just pledged my life and destiny of this man. And I don’t regret it. Nick was meant to be my husband. No one else was supposed to have my virginity.”

After their divorce was finalized in 2006, the Employee of the Month actress dated the likes of John Mayer, Tony Romo and Billy Corgan. Simpson went on to meet former football player Eric Johnson in 2010, who proposed six months later that November.

Simpson and the NFL alum — who share daughters Maxwell, born in 2012, and Birdie, born in 2019, and son Ace, born in 2013 — wed in July 2014. In January 2025, Simpson announced the duo’s separation after 10 years of marriage.

Jensen Ackles — The singer dated the Supernatural actor in the late '90s around the time she became a household name with her debut album Sweet Kisses. It was rumored that Simpson was speaking of the hunk when she later recalled her "first heartbreak" on an episode of MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica years later.

Nick Lachey — The twosome began dating in 1999, married in October 2002 and starred in three seasons of MTV's Newlyweds. But after divorcing Lachey in June 2006, Simpson had only fond memories of the experience. "I believe it did not affect our marriage. Adam Levine — Simpson was rumored to have hooked up with the Maroon 5 frontman in 2004, while she was still married to Lachey. That January, the two reportedly spent the night at L.A.'s Chateau Marmont together. Simpson was seen wearing his T-shirt as pal CaCee Cobb picked her up the next morning.

Bam Margera — The famous prankster said he and Simpson did the deed during a chat on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show in September 2006. "We were just drinking margaritas and stuff, and you know, from there," he said. "It was when her parents were away and Nick was away," he claimed. "It's not a secret."

Johnny Knoxville — Simpson was accused of cheating on Lachey with her Dukes of Hazzard costar in 2006.
While both Simpson and Knoxville denied allegations that they had an inappropriate relationship at the time, the singer detailed their alleged emotional affair in her 2020 memoir, Open Book.

Tony Romo — The NFL Dallas Cowboys player ended their relationship the night before Simpson's 29th birthday in July 2009 after nearly two years of dating. "It's been a long time coming," a pal of Romo's told Us. "They go from one fight right into another, without a second break," another added. "It's always something with Jessica."

Billy Corgan — Though the two were first spotted together in NYC in December 2009, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman played coy about the nature of their brief courtship. From tears to laughter to full-on cringes, the Golden Globes has always served up plenty of memorable moments.

Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield stole the spotlight when they both lost an award to Ryan Gosling during the 2017 ceremony and immediately embraced in a passionate kiss.

“I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him no matter whether he won or lost,” Garfield said days later while on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “It doesn’t matter, it’s how you play the game. He showed up, he gave his all. It doesn’t change anything in my heart.”

In December 2021, Garfield reflected on the surprise smooch. “It was a really fun moment. I said to him, ‘If you win, kiss me instead of Blake [Lively], your wife, because Blake was on the other side.’ He was like, ‘Amazing, let’s do it,'” Garfield recalled during Wired’s auto-complete interview video series.

Not every joke is memorable for the laughter, however. Seth Rogen made audiences cringe when he presented an award alongside Kate Beckinsale in 2011 and said, “Hello, I’m Seth Rogen, and I am currently trying to conceal a massive erection.” Beckinsale chuckled uncomfortably. “How nice,” she replied.

The Year of the Rat Pack — When the Golden Globes first started in 1944, the trophies were presented exclusively by journalists. Then, in 1958, during the first-ever telecast of the awards, Rat Packers Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis Jr. stormed the stage -- whiskeys in hand -- and hijacked the show. Much to the delight of their fellow attendees, the trio were invited back for a repeat performance in 1959.

Thank U, Next? — Oliver Stone’s 1979 best screenplay acceptance speech for Midnight Express turned into a rant about the United States’ drug policy. Though host Chevy Chase requested for Stone to “just say ‘thank you’ and leave the stage” and the audience began to boo him, he continued to make his point. Security guards ultimately escorted him off the stage.

Bette’s Other Globes — After her double win at the 1980 Golden Globes -- for Best Actress in The Rose and Best New Female Star -- Bette Midler drew the audience&apos;s attention to two other trophies: her breasts! "I&apos;m reminded of when Joan Crawford actually won her Golden Globe and she said...&apos;I&apos;ll show you a pair of Golden Globes,&apos;" Midler joked, pretending to grope herself. Covering her face in embarrassment after, she said, "Excuse me, I&apos;m sorry. I&apos;m different now. I&apos;m a good girl!"

Potty Humor — Accepting the Best Supporting Actor award for 12 Monkeys in 1996, Brad Pitt started off his speech not by thanking his director, co-stars, or then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow but by acknowledging "the makers of Kaopectate," a medication that treats indigestion and diarrhea. "I have a nervous stomach, and it works," the A-lister explained later. "I&apos;ll be expecting those calls from Kaopectate any minute now."

Bathroom Break! — Chicago Hope star Christine Lahti almost missed her big moment in the spotlight when Michael J. Fox announced her as the 1998 winner of Best Actress in a TV Drama -- while she was in the bathroom! Running onstage to accept the award, she confessed she had been flushing the toilet when her name was called. The next year, when she presented at the show, Lahti stuck a piece of toilet paper to her shoe as a joke.

A Golden Gift — During his tearful acceptance speech for Don King: Only in America in 1998, Best Actor winner Ving Rhames surprised the crowd by giving away his trophy to fellow nominee Jack Lemmon. "I feel that being an artist is about giving," Rhames said as he handed the award to the 12 Angry Men star, "and I&apos;d like to give this to you, Mr. Jack Lemmon." Lemmon accepted, saying, "That is one of the nicest, sweetest moments I&apos;ve ever known in my life."

Ending the Night on a High Note — When Jack Nicholson accepted the Golden Globe in 2003 for best actor in a drama for About Schmidt, he admitted that he “took a Valium” earlier that evening. The medication helps with treating anxiety, muscle spasms and seizures.

Tough Break — When Richard Gere won the Golden Globe in 2003 for his role in Chicago, he initially couldn’t get through his speech without Sharon Stone repeatedly interrupting him.

Fantastic Mr. Foxx — Jamie Foxx&apos;s 2005 acceptance speech for Ray is widely considered one of the most heartfelt speeches in Golden Globes history. "I wish I could take what I&apos;m feeling right now and put it in the water systems...we would all love each other a whole lot more," he began. Later, he fought back tears as he paid tribute to his late grandmother Estelle Talley. "I used to think it was corny when people would say that people were looking down on you," he said. "I didn&apos;t believe it. But I got a feeling."

Luck of the Draw — House actor Hugh Laurie deserves an award just for his creativity during his 2006 acceptance speech for Best Actor in a TV Series. Realizing he had too many people to thank -- 172! -- and too little time in which to do it, the star wrote down all 172 names on little pieces of paper and drew three at random to acknowledge on stage. The lucky few? His script supervisor, hairstylist, and agent.

Borat Scores Big — Staying true to his trademark no-holds-barred-style of comedy, Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen had the audience doubled over with laughter as he described "the dark side of America" -- a.k.a. the private parts of his co-star Ken Davitian, with whom he filmed an infamous nude wrestling scene. The actor also memorably alluded to the many lawsuits that had been leveled against him after the film by thanking "every American who has not sued me so far."

The F-Bomb Heard ‘Round the Press Room — Former Grey's Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington stunned both his cast mates and reporters in the 2007 Golden Globes press room when he used a slur while discussing an alleged incident between himself and fellow Grey's star T.R. Knight, who came out as gay in 2006. "I did not call T.R. a f----t," he said. "Never happened." Responding to Washington's statement, Knight's pal Katherine Heigl said angrily: "I'm going to be really honest right now. [Isaiah] needs to just not speak in public. Period."

The Host With the Most Insults — During his three-year reign as the host of the Golden Globes, British star Ricky Gervais managed to insult or offend nearly everyone in Hollywood. Nothing was off-limits -- he took aim at Mel Gibson's alcoholism, Charlie Sheen's meltdown, Robert Downey Jr.'s rehab stays, and even Salma Hayek's accent. Addressing the comic's acerbic remarks onstage in 2011, Downey Jr. said sarcastically: "Aside from the fact that it's been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I'd say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far."

TMI, Seth! — Taking the stage to present the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture in 2012, Knocked Up star Seth Rogen couldn't contain his excitement. "Hello, I'm Seth Rogen, and I am currently trying to conceal a massive erection," he deadpanned, as his co-presenter, Kate Beckinsale, chuckled uncomfortably. "How nice," she joked.

By George! — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted the Globes in 2013, 2014 and 2015, repeatedly roasted George Clooney during their tenure. In their final year as hosts, Fey quipped, "George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria and was selected to a three-person U.N. commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award." One year earlier, she mocked his tendency to date younger women, joking, "Gravity is nominated for best film. It&apos;s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age."

Giving Her Feet a Break — Dame Emma Thompson kept it real when she arrived onstage at the 2014 Golden Globes to present the award for best screenplay. She carried her Louboutins in one hand and a martini glass in the other. “I just want you to know, this red, it’s my blood,” she said to the audience, looking at the red bottom of her designer heels.

Eyes Up Here! — While presenting with Jennifer Lopez at the 2015 ceremony, Jeremy Renner remarked on her cleavage in her glam Zuhair Murad gown. After he asked her to open the envelope, she noted that she had the nails for it, to which he replied, "You&apos;ve got the globes, too." Lopez laughed it off, but people watching from home were not as amused, with some saying the comment was inappropriate. He later responded to the backlash on Twitter, writing, "A reminder not to take this s--t so serious. Thanks Jennifer -- You&apos;re a gem.x #goldenglobes #hadtosayit #jlo"

Leo’s Face, Though! — Leonardo DiCaprio’s reaction when Lady Gaga bumped into him during the 2016 ceremony immediately went viral. "That's trending, huh?" he later told Entertainment Tonight. "I just didn't know what was passing me. I was like, 'Oh!'"

Bromance Alert! — Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield decided to kiss as Ryan Gosling walked to the stage to accept an award during the 2017 ceremony. Reynolds would later joke that wife Blake Lively — who laughed during their intimate moment — was a better kisser than the Hacksaw Ridge actor.

Giving T. Hanks — After grimacing throughout host Ricky Gervais’ no-holds-barred opening monologue, Tom Hanks charmed the 2020 Golden Globes audience with his emotional Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech. “[I’m] a man [who] is blessed. … Blessed with a family sitting down front like that,” he said, tearing up. “A wife, [Rita Wilson], who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is. Five kids who are braver and stronger and wiser than their old man is, and a loving group of people who have put up with me being away months and months at a time.”

(Almost) 99 and Feelin’ Fine — Jason Sudeikis was in awe of Norman Lear as the legendary TV writer noted that he was “close to 99” while accepting the Carol Burnett Award in 2021. “He’s 99? Wow,” the Ted Lasso star mouthed on camera during the virtual ceremony.

Nikki Glaser’s Digs — Glaser made jabs at several stars during her opening monologue at the 2025 Golden Globes. “So, tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”
Glaser also made a comment about Diddy, who was arrested for sex trafficking and more charges in September 2024. (He pleaded not guilty and has denied all allegations.)
“Zendaya is here. Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” Glaser said. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.”
She continued, “Oh, I’m upset too. The afterparty’s not going to be good this year. But, we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak-off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

The Golden Globes is one of the biggest nights in Hollywood, and it wouldn’t be complete without stars celebrating their wins with their loved ones.

In January 2018, Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick shared a smooch on the red carpet as they kicked off their 30th year of marriage. They’re not the only ones who’ve packed on the PDA over the years.

In January 2020, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban showed that their romance was still red hot while attending the Golden Globes. The country crooner playfully lifted up the Big Little Lies alum, whom he wed in 2006, as they posed for pictures together.

While the 2021 broadcast was done via Zoom amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it didn’t stop couples from sharing intimate moments with viewers. In fact, when Sacha Baron Cohen won his two awards that evening for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, his then-wife, Isla Fisher, gave him a big kiss on camera. (The pair announced their separation in April 2024 after 14 years of marriage.)

Over the years, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has selected the child of a celebrity to carry the torch into awards season and assist with the annual Golden Globe Awards.

The coveted title of Miss and Mr. Golden Globes dates back to 1963 when Donna Douglas and Eva Six shared the honor. The tradition of the role going to a celebrity kid, however, didn’t start until 1971 with Anne Archer, who went on to become a successful actress in her own right.

Being Miss or Mr. Golden Globes — or the Golden Globes Ambassador as it was changed to in 2018 — does include a few in-show responsibilities. Throughout the event, the ambassador assists the presenters in handing out awards and escorting the winners from the stage.

While many stars have held the role over the years, the ambassador program was discontinued in 2021.

Donna Douglas — The Beverly Hillbillies' Douglas was named the very first Miss Golden Globe by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 1963. Douglas — lauded for her TV credibility — shared the honor with a film designee, Operation Bikini actress Eva Six.

Linda Evans — Best known as Krystle Carrington on Dynasty, Evans was cast on The Big Valley one year after appearing as Miss Golden Globe in 1964.

Anne Archer — Archer was the first celebrity kid to become Miss Golden Globes in 1971. She is the daughter of western actor John Archer and actress Marjorie Lord.

Melanie Griffith — The daughter of Tippi Hedren and Peter Griffith, Melanie was named Miss Golden Globe in 1975.

Laura Dern — In 1982, the daughter of actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd took the stage as Miss Golden Globe. Nine years later, she was honored with a Golden Globe nomination for 1991&apos;s Rambling Rose.

Joely Fisher — Acting as Miss Golden Globe in 1992, the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Connie Stevens earned her first Golden Globe nomination six years later for her role as Paige Clark on Ellen DeGeneres&apos; sitcom Ellen.

Alexandrea Martin — Whoopi Goldberg&apos;s daughter — who first appeared as an extra in The Color Purple with her mom — handed out Golden Globes in 1994.

Born four months after his father Clark Gable died, John Clark Gable was the first boy to be named Mr. Golden Globe in 1995.

Freddie Prinze, Jr. — Just prior to starring in To Jillian on Her 37th Birthday in 1996, the son of Freddie Prinze was named Mr. Golden Globe, splitting presenting honors with Jaime Nicole Dudney, the daughter of Ken Dudney and Barbara Mandrell.

Clementine Ford — In the years since appearing as Miss Golden Globe in 1998, Cybill Shepherd&apos;s daughter had starring roles in both The Young and the Restless and The L Word.

Liza Huber — A model and actress known for her role on NBC&apos;s now defunct soap Passions, Susan Lucci and Helmut Huber&apos;s daughter — now a married mom with a child — was named Miss Golden Globe in 2000.

A.J. Lamas — Lorenzo Lamas&apos; son appeared as Mr. Golden Globe in 2003, sharing trophy presentation duties with Miss Golden Globe Dominik Garcia-Lorido, the daughter of Andy Garcia.

Lily Costner — "This will be a special night for me knowing how carefully she has thought about this and come to the decision on her own," Kevin Costner said when his actress daughter was named to the position in 2004. "This will be an extraordinary experience for Lily and all of us family and friends who have watched her grow up."

Dakota Johnson — The daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, Dakota — who handed out trophies in 2006 and starred as Kate on the FOX sitcom Ben and Kate — was the first daughter of a former Miss Golden Globe to be selected for the prestigious honor. (Griffith did the honor in 1975.)

Lorraine Nicholson — At 16, Jack Nicholson&apos;s daughter appeared at the 64th annual bash in 2007. Lorraine — whose mother is Rebecca Broussard — is an actress who has appeared in Click, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, and in Something&apos;s Gotta Give, alongside her famous father.

Rumer Willis — The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, House Bunny actress Rumer was originally scheduled to appear as Miss Golden Globe 2008, but was forced to wait a year for her time to shine when the show was cancelled due to an industry-wide writers&apos; strike.

Rainey Qualley — Andie MacDowell&apos;s daughter — a musician and actress who appeared in the movie Mighty Fine — was the most recent celebrity offspring to hold the title of Miss Golden Globe, handing out trophies at the 2012 event.

Francesca Eastwood — Clint Eastwood's blonde daughter was named Miss Golden Globe 2013. "I'm nervous but definitely excited!" she told Us Weekly when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association confirmed her appointment back in November 2012. "I'm nervous about falling!"

Sosie Bacon — The daughter of two of Tinseltown's biggest stars, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, was announced as the 2014 Hollywood heir to carry the torch into awards season. "They think I'm going to do a good job," she told Us Weekly. "I think they're saying, 'It will be fun, don't be too nervous, be yourself.'"

Greer Grammer — Kelsey Grammer&apos;s daughter with ex-wife Barrie Buckner earned the coveted title in 2014. "My dad is super proud," the Awkward actress told Us. "He was so over the moon and so happy about it." The MTV star is also the half-sister of Greek alum Spencer Grammer.

Corinne Foxx — Jamie Foxx&apos;s daughter, an aspiring model and actress, performed her Miss Golden Globe duties at the 2016 ceremony with ease. "The best part about this job is I don&apos;t have to speak on stage, I kind of just get to sit and observe and look pretty," she told WWD before the show.

Scarlet, Sistine and Sophia Stallone — Sylvester Stallone's three daughters split Miss Golden Globes' duties at the 2017 ceremony on January 8.

Simone Garcia Johnson — The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that the title of “Miss Golden Globes” was renamed “Golden Globes Ambassador.” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s eldest daughter became the first person with the new title in 2018.

Isan Elba — Idris Elba and ex-wife Hanne Norgaard's only daughter was announced as the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador in November 2018. "I feel honored to hold this title and use this role to not only further educate people on the work of the HFPA, but also shine a light on issues that I care about," the 16-year-old said in a statement at the time. "Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about. There's this perceived stigma and I've seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help."

Dylan and Paris Brosnan — Pierce Brosnan’s sons, Dylan, 22, and Paris, 18, split the Golden Globes Ambassador role during the 2020 ceremony on January 5. “So proud of our sons Dylan and Paris to the ambassadors for the Golden Globes 2020,” the Die Another Day star wrote via Instagram on November 15, 2019.

Satchel and Jackson Lee — Spike Lee’s daughter, 26, and son, 23, made history as the first queer and Black male ambassadors, respectively, at the 78th ceremony in February 2021. “Tonya And I Are Very Proud Of Our Grown Children,” the filmmaker wrote via Instagram ahead of the show.

Taylor Swift, Kate Beckinsale and more of Hollywood’s biggest stars have one serious obsession with their furry feline friends.

The “Lover” singer has never been shy about her love for pets Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, named for some of her favorite fictional characters. The Nashville native adopted her third cat, Benjamin Button, on the set of a music video in 2019.

While speaking with TIME in April 2019, the Grammy winner admitted that the “most influential factor” in her life is her cuddly kittens. “I have cats. I’m obsessed with them,” she said at the time. “They’re just a real joy to live with.”

Despite their past “Bad Blood,” Swift’s obsession with kittens is one thing she has in common with fellow cat lover Katy Perry. The “I Kissed a Girl” singer confirmed in April 2022 that her darling pet Kitty Purry had passed away.

“Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriend’s window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter,” Perry wrote via Instagram at the time. “Kitty, thanks for the cuddles and companionship along the way.”

Carrie Fisher left behind a legacy that friends and fans will never forget following her December 2016 death at the age of 60.

The actress was best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, which daughter Billie Lourd (whom Fisher shared with ex-husband Bryan Lourd) has consistently been in awe of through the years.

“I wanted to hate [Star Wars] so I could tell her how lame she was,” Billie said during her mother’s posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in May 2023. “Like any kid, I didn’t want my mom to be hot or cool — she was my mom. But that day, staring at the screen, I realized no one is, or will ever be, as hot or as cool as Princess Leia.”

She continued, “People of all ages from all over the world were dressed up like my mom, the lady who sang me to sleep at night and held me when I was scared. Watching the amount of joy it brought to people when she hugged them … was incredible to witness.”

Billie later joined the Star Wars universe herself, costarring with her mom in 2015’s The Force Awakens and 2017’s The Last Jedi both filmed before Fisher’s death.

While some celebs share seasonally appropriate selfies, others like to coordinate with their family members.

“The most important part of Christmas ,” Cristiano Ronaldo wrote via X in December 2024 alongside a photo of him and his five kids — Cristiano Jr., born in 2010, twins Eva and Mateo, born in 2017, Alana, born in 2017, and Bella, born in 2022 — and wife Georgina Rodríguez. Sir Elton John and David Furnish have an everlasting love story after connecting right off the bat.

“He was very well dressed, very shy,” the “Rocketman” crooner told Parade in early 2010 of their first meeting in 1993. “We fell in love very quickly. He was independent. I didn’t need to take care of him. I thought, ‘God, this is new territory for me — someone wants to be with me just because he likes me.’”

After spending nearly a dozen years together, the pair made their relationship official in December 2005 shortly after same-sex civil partnerships were declared legal in England.

The twosome — who tied the knot in December 2014 — eventually expanded their family, welcoming sons Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John and Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John in 2010 and 2013, respectively.

John — who publicly came out as gay in 1996 — opened up about his journey and meeting the “love of [his] life” in an open letter to Zachary and Elijah.

“Looking back over the past 75 years, there is so much I am proud of, so much I have learned. As you are the two most precious parts of my life, I want to share some of those lessons with you,” the songwriter penned in a Time magazine essay in March 2022. “Being true to myself is what gave me my voice and helped me face my greatest fears. I’ve forged deep friendships, found the love of my life and became your Daddy. Whoever you grow up to be, just be you — fully and completely you.”

1993 — Music superstar John met film director and producer Furnish at a dinner party. "He was very well dressed, very shy," John told Parade in early 2010. "We fell in love very quickly."

March 2001 — They greeted Prince Charles at a bash.

November 2003 — The pair posed with their dog, Arthur.

February 2005 — The duo met longtime pal and fellow AIDS activist Elizabeth Taylor.

August 2008 — John and Furnish kicked back in Saint Tropez.

2009 — How does the couple keep the love alive? "Every Saturday for 16 years, we've sent each other a card," John said at the time. "No matter where we are in the world, to say how much we love each other."

December 2010 — The spouses attended the 9th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation's "An Enduring Vision" benefit in NYC in October, just two months before the Christmas Day birth of son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. Born via surrogate, their little boy weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces.
“For many years we have talked about fulfilling one of our greatest wishes by becoming parents," John exclusively told Us at the time. “And now this wish has been granted to us, we feel so blessed and lucky.”
The following month, John told Us that he “never felt anything” like holding Zachary for the first time, adding, “You’re so awestruck. What can you say? You take it in. The feeling, the joy, the warmth of his body, his breathing. I will never forget that experience ever.”

January 2013 — The pair welcomed son Elijah via surrogate.
“Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable,” the couple gushed to Hello! magazine. “The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement."

December 2014 — The pair wed at their Windsor, England, home.

March 2017 — They celebrated John’s 70th birthday with a star-studded bash in Los Angeles.

2018 — The pair stepped out at the Grammy Awards, several weeks after the “Tiny Dancer” performer announced his retirement.

March 2019 — “They know that daddy is famous but … when we are out in the summer and people are taking our photograph or asking for a photograph, they say, ‘Why do they want your photograph?’ And we always say, ‘Because people like my music,’” John told Us and other reporters at the time, while attending his annual Oscars bash with Furnish. “They know what Daddy does, but I never bring Elton home. I try to leave Elton on the stage. They’re quite grounded, as far as that goes. They love their daddy’s music, but they also like a lot of other people’s music.”

March 2024 — Furnish penned a sweet tribute to John via Instagram in honor of his 77th birthday, which falls on March 25. "Happy Birthday to my irrepressible husband @eltonjohn. You are the best father, hardest working artist and musician, bountiful humanitarian, loving partner, and most loyal friend," he captioned a photo of the "Tiny Dancer" singer, adding, "Love you forever."
In response, John commented, "I love you and am so incredibly lucky to have you in my life, thank you for everything."

December 2024 — The couple took to social media to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary (and 19 years of their civil partnership).
“Happy Anniversary to us 🚀❤️,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post at the time alongside a selfie of them at the beach.

Not every former Bachelorette found The One on the ABC series — but they’ve all captivated audiences with their search for love.

The Bachelor spinoff started off strong with Trista and Ryan Sutter, who got engaged during the first season of The Bachelorette in 2003. The couple, who have been married since December of that year, have since welcomed two children.

“I do not [regret it],” Trista exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2021 of her nuptials. “It was the best day ever. A close second to my children’s births. … But no, I don’t regret it at all. It was a beautiful day and I feel very lucky to have had the experience.”

While everlasting love has been the end result for some of the Bachelorettes, others haven’t been as lucky.
