Amazon Prime members can save $300 on Eufy’s midrange X10 Pro Omni

21 February 2025 at 10:52
Eufy’s midrange robovac will even mop your hardwood floors.

A robot vacuum can be a cost-effective way to enlist some extra help around the house, especially when you can get a hybrid model at a substantial discount. Fortunately, Prime members can currently get the Eufy X10 Pro Omni — our pick for the best midrange robot vacuum — for $599.99 ($300 off) at Amazon with coupon code NewX10US. The resulting price is only $50 more than the all-time low we saw during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Not much can withstand the Pro Omni’s 8,000Pa of suction power. You may have trouble with stubborn pet hair, though, as its rubber brushes don’t offer enough abrasion to dig them out of carpeting. That said, it’s great for almost any other cleaning situation, including mopping, thanks to its onboard water reservoir and dual oscillating brushes. The latter spin against hard flooring with enough downward pressure to tackle dried stains, and it’s smart enough to lift them over carpet.

What’s more, the Pro Omni offers great AI-powered obstacle avoidance and a multifunction auto-empty / wash / fill dock — something typically reserved for high-end robovacs — making it a midrange model that punches above its weight. The fact it offers heated mop drying and Smart Track cleaning, which prompts the robovac to follow you with a little nudge of your foot, are just an added plus.

  • Now through February 28th, Woot is selling the 40mm Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 in white for $169.99 ($130 off), which is one of the best prices we’ve seen on the Wear OS wearable. It offers a full suite of vitality sensors, including both optical and ECG heart rate sensors, plus a blood oxygen monitor. It can also detect your stress levels and track your sleep quality — it even has an FDA-cleared sleep apnea detection feature — and quantifies these insights with daily energy scores and AI-powered insights. Read our review.
  • If the Galaxy Watch 7 is still too much for you, Amazfit’s Bip 3 Pro is a solid smartwatch-style fitness tracker that won’t break the bank. It’s down to $54.99 ($15 off) at Amazon, which is $5 more than its all-time low. The budget watch features sleep tracking, 60 workout modes, a four-band GPS, and both a heart rate sensor and a blood oxygen monitor to measure your stress levels. It also lasts up to 14 days per charge and works with Android and iOS, allowing for music control and notifications from various apps.
  • You can grab a pair of four-sided Anker 332 USB Power Strips for $29.99 ($10 off) at Amazon right now, which matches the bundle’s lowest price to date. Their small size makes them ideal for adding more power sources to, say, a crowded work desk. They feature six total AC outlets split evenly across three sides, with the endcaps supplying two USB-A ports and a single USB-C port with up to 20W of charging power shared between the three.

Scuf’s Valor Pro is a promising start for its Hall effect Xbox controllers

20 February 2025 at 07:00

Scuf just announced its latest pro-style controller for Xbox and PC, the first to come close to the $100 price point. The $99.99 Scuf Valor Pro — available for purchase starting today in 15 different styles — isn’t exactly a budget controller in its own right, but context matters.

I’ve tested the delightfully translucent version of the controller for nearly two weeks now to see where exactly it fits among Scuf’s current Xbox lineup, consisting of the $169.99 Instinct and the $219.99 Instinct Pro (our previous pick for the best pro-style Xbox controller), both wireless. The wired-only and Valor Pro somehow sits in the middle.

It has the Instinct’s smooth thumb sticks with replaceable tops, now with Hall effect magnetism to reduce the chance of developing stick drift. It also borrows the flagship Instinct’s four programmable rear buttons, its dedicated switch for swapping between its three mapping profiles, and the interchangeable faceplates.

At the same time, you get the Instinct Pro’s rubberized rear grips (adding comfort while retaining that premium feel) and trigger stops. And yet, neither has the Valor Pro’s dedicated dials to adjust game volume and chat mix, nor the dedicated mute buttons embedded beneath both.

As a long-time Xbox gamer, I felt at home using the Valor Pro, which still largely takes after the official Xbox Wireless Controller’s ergonomic design. Scuf’s refinements to that winning formula seem minimal, but can make a meaningful difference. For example, the bumpers are a bit wider and a few millimeters longer than you’ll find on most controllers, draping further down each side. This makes it easier to shift my finger from the trigger to the bumper.

I don’t even have to remove my fingers from the triggers to press the bumpers. The design allows me to use the sides of my index fingers to actuate them with a light press. That meant I could lob grenades in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 while staying at the ready for a gunfight or jump out of fights as Doctor Strange in Marvel Rivals without lowering my shield. The travel and feel are consistent across the entire surface, so it doesn’t feel stabby or straining.

I immediately noticed the redesigned rear paddles, which felt off to me on the Instinct Pro. They’re in roughly the same position as the Instinct’s, designed for all four buttons to be comfortably reachable where your middle and ring fingers drape when gripping the controller.

But the two inside buttons have a bit more topside surface and use a downward vertical force for actuation instead of the horizontal motion required on the Instinct Pro. They’re easier to press while maintaining control over the bigger side paddles. They also don’t require as much force as they did on the Instinct Pro, but the give isn’t so light that misfires become problematic (and you can disable them entirely, if so).

As much as I’ve tried, I’m simply not a back-button gamer. My proportionally stubby fingers combined with cast iron skillets I call palms make it difficult for me to use them effectively in most games. The Scuf Valor Pro is the first controller with four rear buttons that feel natural and don’t make me feel cramped.

PC gamers will soon get support for a 1KHz polling rate in a post-launch update. That update wasn’t available as of writing, but I’d wager you’d find the intended reduced input lag imperceptible if you aren’t the type to qualify for tournaments. I sure couldn’t tell the difference on other controllers I’ve tested with the feature.

Should you buy a Valor Pro? That depends. Although you can swap thumbstick sizes and remove two of the rear paddles, it’s not quite as customizable as something like the Xbox Elite Series 2, but also not nearly as expensive. There are also considerably cheaper wired options with comparable features I’ve tested recently like the $69.99 PowerA Fusion Pro 4, which offers four rear buttons, Hall effect sticks with adjustable height, and Hall effect triggers with three stop levels.

Most don’t remain as faithful to the patented Xbox shape, however, and that might be a deciding factor. Perhaps after an eventual sale, the Valor Pro can be a great first stop for someone new to Scuf, so long as you don’t mind playing with a cable.

Here’s where you can preorder the new iPhone 16E

21 February 2025 at 07:39

Following months of rumors, Apple has finally announced the iPhone 16E, a spiritual successor to the last-gen iPhone SE that’s set to launch on February 28th. Preorders for Apple’s forthcoming handset start at $599 with 128GB of storage and began Friday, February 21st.

Like the most recent iPhone SE models it’s replacing, the iPhone 16E offers flagship-level performance in an older form factor at a cheaper price than its contemporaries. Apple outfitted an iPhone 14-like body with the Apple Intelligence-ready A18 chip from last year’s iPhone 16. That means it’s lost the physical home button but gains a bigger edge-to-edge 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch to house the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors.

Its net button count hasn’t changed, however, as the new iPhone SE now has a customizable Action Button, though there’s no dedicated Camera Control button. The lone 48-megapixel camera can capture 24-megapixel photos with up to 2x optical zoom, supports 4K video recording up to 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision, and offers spatial audio with post-recording Audio Mix adjustments. The Lightning port has been swapped out for USB-C as well, and you get 7.5W Qi wireless charging (no MagSafe, sorry). Notably, it’s the first iPhone with Apple’s homegrown C1 modem, which supports 5G but lacks the speeder mmWave radios.

Looking to buy? Keep reading for all your preorder options.

Where to preorder the iPhone 16E

You can preorder the iPhone 16E from Apple, Best Buy, and Target ahead of its February 28th release date. The 128GB base model retails for $599, but you can also get it with 256GB of storage for $699 or 512GB of storage for $899.

The iPhone 16E will be available in either matte black or matte white at launch, with five official silicone cases — including blue, fuchsia, green, black, and white options — available for $39 apiece.

Instagram will now let you schedule and pin DMs

19 February 2025 at 08:59

Instagram’s direct message function is getting a big infusion of features today, including scheduled direct messages that you can prewrite and set to send on a later date, up to 29 days in advance. You can also now pin up to three messages to the top of the chat.

Meta says the changes are intended to help with messaging people who live in different time zones or to keep important messages (read: memes) visible in busy group chats where things are easily missed.

A few more incoming DM-specific features include the ability to invite friends to a group chat with a QR code, plus message translations with support for 99 languages. You can translate any individual message and see the result inline as if your friend originally sent it.

Another fun addition is sharing music natively within the app, which would allow you and your friends to listen to the same song simultaneously, or share them asynchronously without using links or otherwise navigating away from Instagram.

You can access the music search feature in the same view where stickers and animated GIFs live.

Music sharing will extend to broadcast channels (which are sort of like public direct message inboxes intended for creators with mostly one-way messaging to their followers), though it’s unclear whether that’s true of the other features, which are all rolling out globally today.

Google Meet’s AI transcripts will automatically create action items for you

18 February 2025 at 12:52

Google Meet’s Gemini-powered note-taking feature is getting a bit more useful for Workspace teams. It will now generate a checklist of suggested next steps at the end of your meetings, going as far as assigning due dates and attaching a primary stakeholder to the task.

The note-taking feature was initially launched in August last year. I’ve played around a bit with it here at The Verge since then, and thus far, it hasn’t produced totally disastrous results.

Gemini’s voice-to-text transcription can accurately separate speakers and produce a mostly accurate account of everything discussed, though it’s not always perfect. It summarizes the result with a surprisingly coherent and cohesive structure in a Google Doc that’s automatically shared to participants after the meeting’s conclusion.

By and large, I’m not ready to substitute my creative liberty with artificial intelligence. But barring any concerns of sensitive information being exposed to a large language model, I might be a little more welcoming of AI helping out with note-taking.

This new action items feature will start rolling out today, though Google says that it will be rolling out at “a much slower pace than usual as we carefully monitor performance and quality.”

All of Chipolo’s Bluetooth trackers are discounted in sitewide sale

18 February 2025 at 09:11
The Chipolo Card Spot isn’t as creepy as other trackers, Victoria says in her review.

Did you know Apple’s AirTags weren’t the first Find My Bluetooth trackers for iPhones? Chipolo actually beat Apple to its own game in 2021 with the Chipolo One Spot. It’s easy to pass them up given that AirTags are often discounted, but Chipolo’s ongoing sale is tempting.

All of Chipolo’s trackers are discounted right now, and when you use exclusive code THEVERGE10 on any of them, you can save a bit more. Bundles are the best value here; for example, a four-pack of Chipolo One Spot trackers is down to $56.70 (about $55 off) with all discounts applied, compared to $19.80 for a single one. You can also get a single Chipolo Card Spot for $26.10 (about $9 off). It offers the same functionality in a card-sized form factor designed to slip into a wallet.

The Android-specific Chipolo One Point and Chipolo Card Point are also on sale for roughly the same prices. They work the same, but designed for Google’s Find My Device network. You’ll get some exclusive features if you go for the original Chipolo One and Chipolo Card, which don’t support either platform’s Find My network but offer exclusive perks in Chipolo’s multiplatform app.

If you value having access to a bigger Find My network, you’ll want to skip the original Chipolo trackers and go for the Spot (iPhone) or Point (Android) varieties. Chipolo’s network has around five million users, opposed to the hundreds of millions on Androids and iPhones globally. However, the Find My versions don’t allow you to remotely trigger sounds on your phone, and the out-of-range notifications you can get for iPhone-specific trackers is a bit more limited compared to the original Chipolo One (the Google Find My version doesn’t support them at all). None of the trackers support ultra wideband for up-to-the-inch precision finding like AirTags, by the way, so you’ll want to bypass these entirely if that’s important to you.

Other deals you shouldn’t miss

  • The Logitech G502 X Plus in black is down to $114.99 ($45 off) at Amazon and Staples, which is only $10 more than its lowest price to date. It’s the newest version of one of our favorite gaming mice, upgraded with a 25,000 DPI hero sensor (up from 12,000 DPI on the original), hybrid optical switches for faster response times, a removable and reversible DPI shift button, and USB-C connectivity for charging. It otherwise has the same fixings of the older model we like, including customizable buttons and RGB lighting, plus Powerplay compatibility for perpetual wire-free charging.
  • LG’s wonderfully weird StanbyME Go briefcase TV is down to a new record low of $696.99 at Amazon. The 1080p smart TV lives inside a briefcase and features a built-in collapsible arm, which folds down into the cache for easy transport. It supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, too, and runs LG’s excellent webOS, which has tons of streaming apps and channels built-in. Read our review.

Spotify’s HiFi streaming could finally arrive this year

17 February 2025 at 13:18

It’s been nearly four years since Spotify announced a HiFi tier for its music streaming service that would support lossless audio. That wait could end this year, Bloomberg reports, as the company works to finalize details, including streaming rights.

Spotify could charge as much as $5 or $6 extra per month for the new tier — said to be named “Music Pro” — which is in line with estimates CEO Daniel Ek shared last year. Spotify’s Premium tier currently starts at $11.99 per month before family or student discounts, the result of two price hikes in as many years.

Competitors like Apple Music include lossless streaming in their services’ base price, but Spotify reportedly plans to justify the extra charge by including more features in Music Pro, including song remixing and concert ticket sales that would grant subscribers exclusive deals and early access.

Earlier this month, Spotify signed a new multi-year licensing agreement with Warner Music Group to secure future streaming rights and help “shape the future of audio-visual streaming,” with HiFi presumably included in that vision. It inked a similar deal with Universal Music Group in late January, with UMG specifically teasing HiFi streaming and offering further ideas of what a “superfan” music service could offer. Notable suggestions included priority access to deluxe edition content and early music releases, as well as exclusive listening party invites and artist Q&A sessions.

It’s taken a little longer than expected, but it looks like the world’s biggest music streaming service may finally be ready to turn up the volume on HiFi in 2025.

You can get a 55-inch Hisense U7 for under $500

14 February 2025 at 08:38
Hisense models are great starter TVs that you can grow into.

I sorely recall the early onset of the current gaming generation, which kicked off in late 2020. The Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 were a bit difficult to come by, so much so that I committed the cardinal sin of paying a reseller more than $200 over MSRP for the latter. The TVs that could take full advantage of their capabilities were also exorbitantly expensive — I’m talking multiple thousands of dollars — but that’s changed considerably nearly five years later.

Take the Hisense U7, for example, which has everything you need to enjoy any type of entertainment you want at its fullest potential. You can get one starting around $498 ($301 off) at Amazon and Best Buy for a 55-inch model, which is about $20 more than its best price to date. Need bigger? You can still stay under $1,000 and get a 75-incher for a reasonable price of around $948 ($550 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. The line tops out with an 85-incher that’s down to $1,307.99 ($892 off) at Amazon and Best Buy.

Hisense isn’t the first brand most people prefer, but its TVs offer very good visuals and stand out among comparably priced mid-range models from mainstays like LG, Samsung, and Sony. And those prices on the U7 are bona fide steals considering their 4K Mini LED QLED panels use a 144Hz native refresh rate. They support variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, too — all pluses for both console and PC gaming.

The 1,500-nit max brightness combined with HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision combine for excellent dynamic range and an accurate and vibrant color. Those inclusions are about par for any centerpiece TV worth talking about these days, but notably, you still can’t find Dolby Vision on any Samsung TV. The U7 also has Dolby Atmos for spatial cinematic audio, the benefit of which is typically hard to hear on a TV’s built-in speakers. But the 40W 2.1-channel audio system includes a built-in subwoofer that should offer better than average out-of-the-box sound.

The Hisense U7 uses Google TV, which has evolved into one of the most pleasant, cohesive, and comprehensive smart TV platforms available. It offers personalized recommendations that it pulls from every available app, and you can use natural language voice commands with Google Assistant to find something a bit more specific. Google TV also supports Chromecast casting and Apple AirPlay mirroring, plus Amazon Alexa and Apple Home integrations.

Bose headphones and earbuds are nearly 25 percent off for Presidents Day

13 February 2025 at 12:07
Despite how they appear, the Ultra Open Earbuds don’t hurt while gripping your ears.

If you need a new pair of headphones, earbuds, or a portable Bluetooth speaker, Bose’s ongoing Presidents Day sale presents a few compelling options. In fact, now through February 17th, several QuietComfort and SoundLink devices are receiving steep discounts, including some of our favorite models.

Several products are matching their lowest price to date, such as the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, which are available from Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose for $229 ($70 off). They’re a strange-looking pair at first glance, but the Ultra Open are designed to clip onto your ears and push audio to your eardrums without plugging your ear canals like a traditional pair of earbuds. Their grip isn’t particularly tight, either, ensuring a comfortable fit even during longer listening sessions.

The goal of their open-style design is to help you remain aware of what’s going on around you — something that is useful if want to remain present outside or keep an ear to the ground for children or visitors while at home. Unfortunately, that unconventional build also means you’ll sacrifice some bass responsiveness and overall volume compared to traditional earbuds, though the resulting audio quality is still surprisingly effective for what they are.

Read our Ultra Open Earbuds review.

If you’re after more traditional buds, the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds should be on your radar. They’re down to $249 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose’s online storefront, which is $20 more than their best price to date. They offer some of the best noise-canceling performance in their class and are capable of delivering Bose’s signature sound. They can also leverage Bose’s take on spatial audio, enabling a greater level of immersion with select tracks (though it works better with some songs than others).

Immersive Audio is one of the primary reasons to consider upgrading from the QuietComfort Earbuds II, which are available for $199 ($80 off) from Bose. If you already own those, it may be worth staying put as the QC Ultra Earbuds sound nearly the same in standard listening modes. Bose also updated the newer pair last year with multipoint Bluetooth support, and while they don’t natively support Qi wireless charging, you can purchase a separate cover for $49 that adds the functionality.

Read our QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds review.

You can also save a bit on the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, which are on sale at Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose’s online store for $349 ($80 off) — a mere $20 shy of their lowest price to date. They’re just as comfortable and balanced as the older QuietComfort 45 and Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 they take after; however, they benefit from better call quality and a more natural-sounding transparency mode. The QC Ultra also feature an attractive, foldable design and several newer features, including support for Bose’s Immersive Audio.

Like the Ultra Earbuds, Immersive Audio is a fun attempt to make you feel as though you’re attending a concert, but it isn’t always convincing. That mode also reduces battery life, bringing the total runtime down to around 18 hours and ultimately negating one of the main benefits of over-ear headphones. It’s also worth noting that the QC Ultra sport a single physical multi-function button and primarily rely on touch controls for volume and playback control, though you can customize the multifunction button using the Bose app.

Read our QuietComfort Ultra Headphones review.

If you prefer a portable Bluetooth speaker, you can also get the Bose SoundLink Max for around $329 ($70 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose, which is $30 more than its lowest price to date. It delivers powerful stereo sound and lasts up to 20 hours per charge, with a battery that can reverse charge other devices via a built-in USB-C port. It doesn’t support lossless audio through said port, but there is a dedicated 3.5mm aux input, which is rare these days.

The SoundLink Max is a bit heavier (and larger) than your average Bluetooth speaker at 4.9 pounds, but the removable carrying handle helps with transport. It’s also ruggedly built with an IP67 rating for protection against water and dust. We also like that you can pair it with up to two devices simultaneously, but we wish there were speakerphone and virtual assistant features, especially given the substantial price.

A few more Bose deals

  • If the SoundLink Max is too heavy and costly, the latest SoundLink Flex — on sale for $129 ($20 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Bose — offers similar durability with a lighter, slimmer profile. It lasts up to 12 hours per charge, and while there’s no built-in stereo playback like the Max, you can pair two of them to gain that effect.
  • The Bose SoundLink Micro is even tinier, enough so that it can easily slip into your pocket. That also means it’s a lot cheaper at $79 ($40 off), which is its current price from Bose. It’s a little long in the tooth compared to the bigger SoundLink speakers, as evidenced by its Micro USB charging port (ugh, I know). It also doesn’t have multipoint support, though you can pair it with other SoundLink speakers. Plus, there’s nothing else in Bose’s lineup with an integrated clip that can easily attach to, say, the handlebars on your bike.
  • You can get the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 for $649 ($250 off) from Bose, which is $50 more than its lowest price to date. It can be a powerful home theater upgrade on its own thanks to Dolby Atmos support, which uses several proprietary techniques to simulate height and width without additional speakers. You can use HDMI eARC for one-cable TV audio and control, or sync devices over Bluetooth and hook up other Bose speakers via Wi-Fi for multiroom playback. It also supports Apple’s AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Overwatch 2 is adding a CS:GO-style mode and bringing back loot boxes

12 February 2025 at 10:30

Overwatch 2 is getting quite the shakeup in 2025 as it faces growing competition from other online shooters. It starts with the season 15 update that’s coming on February 18th that’ll tease a new hero and introduce an in-game Perks system for existing ones, plus the return of the 6v6 competitive queues Blizzard tested late last year. There’s also the return of loot boxes and then, in April, a Counterstrike-like mode, two new characters, and a revamped ranked queue that lets you ban heroes and vote on maps.

Reintroducing loot boxes may be a polarizing move, as games that implement them have received backlash over the years for their predatory nature. Blizzard removed them from Overwatch a few years ago in favor of an in-game shop when it restructured its monetization model after going free-to-play. The company will responsibly publicize drop rates and is guaranteeing that you’ll receive an item of “Rare” rarity or better in each box, plus a guaranteed “Epic” after opening five and a “Legendary” after opening 20. We’re not sure whether you’ll still be able to purchase cosmetics directly from a rotating in-game shop, but you can earn loot boxes as part of weekly and event rewards, and you can get up to three guaranteed Legendary loot boxes in each seasonal battle pass.

Stadium is arguably the biggest change announced for Overwatch 2 so far. The new gameplay mode is a best-of-seven romp between two teams of five that’s akin to CounterStrike: Go or Valorant. You’ll earn currency each round, with rotating maps and objectives alternating between Control, Clash, and Push.

The cash goes toward upgrades for your hero that are unique to the mode, whether you’re unlocking an ability or upgrading it with enhanced potency or transformative effects that buff your offense and team utility. You can even choose between first-person or third-person POVs. It’s getting its own ranked queue, too, and launches with 14 heroes to start, with more planned to be added in future updates alongside a steady rollout of new maps.

Season 16 will also introduce Freja, a high-mobility character who can dash horizontally and jump vertically while wielding a dual-mode crossbow that enables both rapid-fire shooting and precision sniping. You’ll be able to play her for a bit during a trial weekend in Season 15. Blizzard is also teasing a new character for Season 18 named Aqua, appropriately named for his water-based abilities.

As for the new Perks system, it promises to enhance all of the game’s heroes with two unique upgrades per match. Your first upgrade is a minor one that lets you choose one of two slight boosts, perhaps a slightly stronger passive or a reduced cooldown for a core ability. The second upgrade offers a more substantial play style shift designed to help turn the tides of battle — Torbjorn can choose between a stronger level three turret or the ability to mount it on a wall, for example.

These drastic changes are almost necessary for any service-based online arena shooter to stand out amidst growing competition, as evidenced by Fortnite recently receiving a similar mode as Epic Games continues experimenting. There are only so many players to go around, after all, especially with newcomer Marvel Rivals making a loud and very noticeable Namor-sized splash of late.

The best Presidents Day deals you can still get

18 February 2025 at 08:48
A few of our favorite devices are still on sale right now, including the latest AirPods Pro with USB-C.

Thanks to the one-two punch that is Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day, there are plenty of sales to take advantage of throughout the month of February. And while both holidays are officially behind us, Amazon, Walmart, and plenty of other retailers are still discounting a range of tech, including some of the gadgets and gizmos we often fawn over at The Verge.

Right now, for instance, the Apple Watch Series 10 is down to its best to date. You can also find discounts on noise-canceling headphones like Sony’s WH-1000XM5, versatile USB-C chargers, streaming services, and more. To make sifting through what’s still available a little easier, we’ve rounded up the best deals below.

  • You can grab a four-pack of AirTags for $69.99 ($30 off) at Amazon right now, which matches the bundle’s best price to date. Apple’s ultra wideband trackers are our No. 1 pick for iPhone users, as they allow you to track your keys, bag, and other belongings within inches of their location using Apple’s extensive Find My network. They also feature replaceable batteries, carry an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, and offer tracking alerts to help prevent stalking. Hell, you can even now share their location with a handful of airlines, courtesy of a recent iOS 18 update. Read our original review.
  • Sony’s WH-1000XM4 are available for around $248 ($100 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. The last-gen pair of headphones remain a solid alternative to the XM5 thanks to their fantastic noise cancellation and overall call quality. They last up to 30 hours per charge, support Google Fast Pair and Find My on Android devices, and feature multipoint Bluetooth connectivity. They also support 360-degree spatial audio and, unlike the latest model, tout a foldable design that’s far more portable. Read our review.
  • The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are matching their all-time low of $229 ($70 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and directly from Bose. They’re a solid pair of wireless earbuds if you want to enjoy music without completely plugging your ear canals. Unlike bone-conduction headphones, which send vibrations through your skull for similar open-ear benefits, the Open Earbuds clip onto your ear lobe. Bose’s so-called OpenAudio technology then directs audio toward your eardrums. They’re an interesting alternative that might be more ideal for workouts than other products, but by nature, they don’t perform as well as traditional earbuds. Read our review.

  • NBA 2K25 is down to $24.99 ($45 off) — an all-time low — at Amazon for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S (you can also get it for $19.99 for the Nintendo Switch). The current promo on the basketball simulator comes just in time for the NBA all-star weekend. It’s updated within days of the league-wide roster changes, with realistic lineups reflected across Play Now and GM modes. You can also build a fantasy squad through MyTeam’s collectible card experience, or create a MyPlayer character to act out your own rags to riches story in the NBA.
  • The 49-inch Odyssey G95SD OLED is available for $1,499.99 ($400 off) from Samsung’s online store. That’s a record-low price on Samsung’s newest G9 monitor, though you can get the similarly impressive G95SC from 2023 for $948.99 (about $651 off) at Amazon. The QHD-equivalent, ultra-wide curved OLED monitors sport a 240Hz refresh rate and a .03-millisecond response time. The glare-free panel should make it a blast for playing games in most lighting conditions, while adaptive brightness tech detects static on-screen elements and lowers the local brightness to protect the display from burn-in. Both models also feature an RGB ring on the rear that can change dynamically based on what’s happening in your game.
  • You can get the 55-inch Samsung Odyssey Ark (second-gen) for $1,799.99 ($900 off) at Best Buy, B&H Photo, and direct from Samsung. It’s an absolutely unhinged 4K Mini-LED curved display that supports up to 165Hz refresh rate, and you can flip it vertically into “cockpit” mode for a new perspective while gaming or for whatever hardcore productivity needs you might have. Also aiding your productivity is an improved Multi View feature that lets you view up to four independent HDMI or DisplayPort sources simultaneously. It includes a built-in KVM switch and a dedicated control dial for managing its various settings.

Update, February 18th: Adjusted pricing, removed expired deals, and updated copy to reflect the fact Presidents Day is over.

Our favorite mopping vacuum is a whopping $500 off right now

10 February 2025 at 09:18
The Freo X Ultra and its base station are bigger than most mopping robot vacuums, but also very effective.

Whether you’re picking up after a rowdy Super Bowl party or need help battling a growing army of children, cats, and dogs, grabbing a robot vacuum that can mop is one of the smartest decisions you can make going into 2025. There are a number of great options available, but few can match the mopping prowess of Narwal’s Freo X Ultra, which is on sale through February 16th for $899 ($500 off) direct from Narwal or at Amazon for the same price thanks to an on-page coupon.

The Freo X Ultra stands above other mopping robots we tested primarily thanks to its triangular spinning mop pads, the pressure of which it can automatically adjust based on the floor type it detects. The two four-liter water tanks allow for longer mopping routines, which is helpful considering the robovac might take additional passes when its dirt-sensing technology deems it necessary to do so. If it somehow happens to miss a spot, you can also use Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands to initiate cleaning and help get it back on track.

The combo vac comes with a base station where it can refill its mopping solution and clean and dry its pads, but it won’t automatically empty the one-liter dustbin like other models. Instead, it uses a compression technique that allows it to run for up to 60 days before you’re required to empty it. We also found the Freo X Ultra works well for vacuuming most surfaces thanks to its 8,200Pa of suction power. That being said, it has trouble clearing plushier carpets due to the substantial mop pads, and its lidar-based navigation isn’t as good at obstacle avoidance as other models that also incorporate cameras.

  • Kendrick Lamar keeps insisting we turn the TV off, but that can be hard with so much entertainment yet to be discovered. Amazon’s newest Fire TV Stick 4K Max can help you cut through the noise, though. It’s on sale at Amazon through February 14th for $34.99 ($25 off) — which is only $3 more than its all-time low — when you use promo code 4KFTVGAME. You can use the streaming stick’s included Alexa Voice Remote to ask Alexa for recommendations on new things to watch, listen to, or play with immersive home theater enhancements like HDR10 Plus, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. You can also use it to control smart home devices and view your Ring or Blink camera feeds from your TV.
  • If you need a new TV altogether, you can get a 55-inch Hisense U7N QLED for $498 ($300 off) at Amazon, which is about $20 more than its lowest price to date. Hisense models strike a nice balance between affordability and visual fidelity. The 2024 U7N runs Google TV and is suitable for gaming thanks to its native 144Hz refresh rate. You’ll get full-array local dimming coverage across its 1,500-nit panel to maximize black levels, plus Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus (with Dolby Atmos audio support) to automatically dial in the cinematic appeal envisioned by film directors and game developers.
  • The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 are on sale for $139.99 ($40 off) at Best Buy, which is the lowest price we’ve seen since they launched in late 2024. The bone-conduction headphones improve on the original pair with stronger bass and USB-C charging, though we found the new AI-powered noise cancellation for call quality isn’t as effective as advertised. That said, they’re a great pair of open-ear headphones if you want to hear your surroundings while working from home or working out in public. Read our review.

The Verge’s 2025 smart start gift guide

10 February 2025 at 07:00

Whether you’re a first-time smart home builder or looking to add some cutting-edge tech to your current setup, the recently released gadgets below can save you time and money while adding a little fun to your daily routine. Google Pixel Watch 3 is $60 off for Verge readers

7 February 2025 at 08:45
The Pixel Watch 3 is simultaneously the best Android smartwatch and Fitbit wearable.

The Android faithful have more smartwatch options than ever, but there are a few obvious starting points. If you’re on a Samsung smartphone (like the Galaxy S25 series that’s launched today), you should probably go for a Galaxy Watch. For almost every other brand, the Google Pixel Watch 3 should be at or near the top of your list.

If you’ve perused our list of the best Android smartwatches and find yourself arriving at the same conclusion, you can come back here and take advantage of a Verge-exclusive discount from Wellbots that brings the 41mm wearable down to $289.99 ($60 off) when applying promo code 60VERGE at checkout. That’s just $10 shy of the all-time low. You can use the same code to get $60 off when selecting the 45mm version, dropping its price to $339.99.

If the Pixel Watch 2 was a decent improvement over its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 3 is a comparative stunner. If you’re in it for fitness, we feel it’s one of the best Fitbit-powered wearables available, with features like FDA-cleared EKGs, AI-generated workouts with automatic tracking, and daily readiness scores with load management. Of course, you also get comprehensive support for Google services, including Assistant, Gmail, Calendar, and Wallet. The Pixel Watch 3 brought additional upgrades to the lineup for the first time, too, like offline Google Maps, and improved battery life. Plus, you can now control more Google devices, such as Nest doorbells and cameras, or even Google TV.

Three more deals to start your weekend

  • You can get a four-pack of Tile by Life360 Mate Bluetooth trackers for $55.99 ($24 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Tile, which works out to about $14 per piece and matches the all-time low. The Bluetooth tracker is compatible with both Android smartphones and iPhones, offering basic item tracking when you’re within 350 feet. You can also double-tap a button to locate your phone, so putting on on your set of keys or your daily carry bag is ideal. With a $14.99 a month Life360 Gold subscription, you can also discretely send SOS alerts to contacts or hail emergency services.
  • The original CRKD Nitro Deck for Nintendo Switch is matching its record low of $39.99 ($10 off) at Amazon, Walmart, and CRKD’s online store. It’s an ergonomic Switch cradle that replaces your finicky Joy-Con controllers with a pair of Hall effect analog sticks, plus four programmable buttons and turbo control. It also supports gyroscopic motion controls and rumble. It plugs into the Switch or Switch OLED using their USB-C ports, with passthrough charging available through its own USB-C port. It doesn’t support passthrough video, however — you’d need the Nitro Deck Plus ($69.99 at Amazon) with a USB-C adapter for that.
  • Verge readers can get a pair of Google Pixel Buds A for $69 ($30 off) at Wellbots with exclusive promo code 30VERGE. That’s their second best price to date. They’re a solid, affordable pair of wireless earbuds for anyone needing an affordable backup pair. You won’t get top-line bells and whistles we like, such as active noise cancellation, but they’re comfortable to wear and sound just as good as the original Pixel Buds. Although you can use them with iPhones, the Pixel Buds A work best with Android phones, as you’ll get support for Fast Pair, location tracking, in-ear detection, EQ, and more features available in the companion app. Read our review.

Today is your last chance to snag a preorder deal on Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones

6 February 2025 at 12:32
It might take a magnifying glass to notice, but the Galaxy S25 family brings subtle differences.

Thousands of retailers and carrier stores in the US will be stocked with the Samsung Galaxy S25 ($799.99), S25 Plus ($999.99), and S25 Ultra ($1,299.99) on Friday, February 7th. Hardware-wise, the S25 series is a marginal improvement over last year’s S24 series, with the most noteworthy changes coming in the form of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and an expanded 12GB of RAM. Each device also supports Qi2 Ready charging (with a magnet case) and a spate of new AI features thanks to Android 15, while the S25 Ultra gets an upgraded 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.

While you likely aren’t in danger of missing out on a day-one purchase, you’ll still want to consider preordering to cash in on some incentives if you’re planning to buy one. For example, Amazon is still offering a $100 credit with any Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 Plus purchase, and you’ll get a $200 gift card with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Best Buy, meanwhile, is throwing in $50, $100, or $200 gift cards with the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, respectively.

Samsung is offering similar incentives, but they’re oddly split between an instant credit and a bonus for upgrading to the next storage tier. For example, opting for a 128GB S25 Plus for $799.99 will net you a $100 credit that you can use toward anything in Samsung’s online store after purchase, or you can step up to the 256GB model for $809.99 ($50 off) and receive an additional $50 credit.

The base S25 Plus with 256GB of storage is available with $150 in credit from Samsung, along with an extra $50 upgrade credit toward the 512GB model. The Galaxy S25 Ultra also comes with a $150 credit for its 256GB base model, but you can effectively double your storage for free with an additional $150 credit, plus get another $110 credit on top of that when jumping up to 1TB.

Carriers might be the way to go if you aren’t buying the S25 unlocked, with many offering monthly bill credits when trading in a device and activating service on an unlimited plan. Verizon is offering a free Galaxy S25 or S25 Plus, or up to $1,000 toward a Galaxy S25 Ultra with qualifying trade-ins, for example. T-Mobile is pushing a similar promotion for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, as is AT&T (S25, Plus, and Ultra), with the latter also allowing you to activate additional lines with the Galaxy Watch FE or Galaxy Tab A9 Plus for $.99 each a month. You can find more details about each carrier and retailer offer in our Galaxy S25 preorder guide.

Beats Studio Buds Plus are matching their record low with $50 off

5 February 2025 at 07:33
There’s clearly no better design trend right now than this.

We’re still awaiting a new pair of Powerbeats Pro to drop sometime this year, but if you’re a Beats fan in need of a solid pair of wireless earbuds to bridge the gap, you’re in luck. The Beats Studio Buds Plus are on sale for their all-time low of price of $119.99 (about $50 off) right now at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. The discount applies to all available colors, including the attractive see-through pair we’ve fallen in love with over the last year.

The Beats Studio Buds Plus sound noticeably better than the original pair and we’ve found even rival the AirPods Pro for music. Their noise cancellation is also better than their predecessor, but falls short of the AirPods Pro. Those are minor gripes considering the lower price. They’re lacking some tricks compared to Apple’s top earbuds, such as spatial audio head-tracking and automatic device switching. That said, they’re a solid pair if you use both iOS and Android devices, as the Studio Buds Plus support native Find My and fast pairing options across both ecosystems.

More mid-week deals to consider

  • Looking for a fun and easy console-like device on which to play all your retro games? RetroRemake’s SuperSation One can emulate nearly everything from the PlayStation One it’s inspired by and older. You can preorder one now for a discounted $179.99 ($450 off) ahead of its expected Q4 2025 arrival. It’s configured to run PS1 games out of the box and even supports the classic console’s original controllers and memory cards. But you can also load up titles from many other retro consoles using a flash drive or the 64GB microSD card it comes with. It also offers a variety of analog video and audio output options — including VGA, composite, and 3.5mm — plus digital audio and HDMI.
  • Apple’s M2 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD is down to $799.99 ($400 off) at Amazon when clicking an on-page coupon. That price is matching the lowest we’ve seen yet. It’s a couple of years older now and the memory allotment doesn’t quite meet the 16GB standard commanded by Apple Intelligence. That said, the M2 Air still handles modest productivity needs very well for business and school work, and it’s even capable of some light photo and video editing. It’s also much more comfortable to carry around than a MacBook Pro while lasting all day on a full battery. Read our review.
  • If you’re even remotely interested in the Persona series and haven’t yet played Metaphor: ReFantazio by the same creators, you should. Now’s a good time to add it to your collection, as the Xbox Series X / S physical copy is down to a new low of $44.77 (about $25 off) at Amazon, while the PlayStation 5 version is also matching its all-time low of $49.99 ($20 off) at Amazon. It takes from Persona’s excellent turn-based RPG battle system and storytelling style in a new medieval-era fantasy narrative that smartly navigates much of the oppressive societal challenges we still face today. Sonos soundbars and speakers are up to $250 off for the Super Bowl

31 January 2025 at 11:18
Sonos speakers and soundbars are great for games and movies, not just sports.

I would have preferred any other Super Bowl matchup than another showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, but the world doesn’t revolve around me. Regardless, I love a good championship football game, especially one enhanced by an immersive sound system. If you’re in need of a home theater audio upgrade yourself, Sonos might be the play, as it’s offering up to $250 off its connected soundbars and speakers through February 8th.

The Sonos Arc, for example, is on sale at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart starting at just $649 ($250 off) right now, which is the lowest price we’ve seen on the high-end soundbar. It was the most impressive soundbar in the Sonos lineup before the Sonos Arc Ultra showed up. Although it doesn’t have the expanded soundstage offered by the Ultra’s extra virtual channels and Sound Motion tech, it’s still terrific as a standalone Dolby Atmos soundbar with eight woofers, two tweeters, and two upfiring speakers. It supports Apple’s AirPlay 2 and does the Sonos trick of offering voice-activated control using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, too.

The Arc could still use a bit of bass help, though, assuming you want to get the most out of movies and games after the final whistle blows. You can get that by pairing it with a Sonos Sub Mini, which is matching its all-time of $343 ($86 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Sonos’ online storefront right now. It’s a compact wireless subwoofer that should be much easier to find space for in tighter home theaters than the fourth-gen Sonos Sub. The latter is bigger and more powerful, but also pretty expensive. Thankfully, it’s available for $679 ($120 off) from Sonos as part of the company’s ongoing Super Bowl promo.

If these pairings would stretch your budget too much, Sonos also makes several budget-friendly soundbars. The second-gen Sonos Beam is available for $399 ($100 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Sonos, which is $30 more than its lowest price to date. It’s more compact than the Arc, but still offers good sound, an eARC HDMI port, and support for Dolby Atmos with virtualized surround sound channels (though, no up-firing Atmos speakers).

Amazon, Best Buy, and Sonos are also discounting the entry-level Sonos Ray to $179, which is $100 off and $30 more than its all-time low. It can’t match the sound coming out of the Sonos Arc or the latest Beam, but it’ll surely trump what most TVs can output. Plus, at 22 inches wide, it’s the ideal size if your entertainment center doesn’t have much space. That said, you’ll need an optical cable for audio from your TV as it doesn’t have an HDMI eARC port like the other soundbars do.

If you prefer a smart speaker over a soundbar, the Sonos Era 100 is also currently matching the record low of $199 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Sonos’ online storefront. With a pair, you can add rear surround sound to make it feel as though you’re in the stands hearing cheers and jeers. That said, the Era 100 doesn’t support Dolby Atmos like the beefier Sonos Era 300 does. The latter is the only Atmos-supporting Sonos speaker, and it also happens to be on sale for an all-time low of $359.99 (about $89 off) at Best Buy.

The Era 100 does well on its own as an all-around music speaker, though. Like the Era 300, it offers both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, AirPlay 2 support, and Amazon Alexa compatibility (with a dedicated switch to disable the microphone). It also supports Sonos’ handy Trueplay tuning feature and USB-C line-in, which lets you connect wired devices using an optional 3.5mm to USB-C adapter.

Sharge’s Retractable 65W USB-C charger is 20 percent off in its first sale

30 January 2025 at 10:55
It’s so fun to just stare at this thing.

The Sharge Retractable 65 was announced earlier this month, bringing the world a uniquely designed 65W GaN travel charger featuring an integrated and retractable USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 cable. It’s incredibly compact and scratches our geeky itch with a translucent design. If you’re looking for something a little different to throw in your pocket or bag, now is a good time to buy as its first discount brings it down to $39.90 ($10 off) from Amazon when clicking a coupon, or directly from Sharge.

The Retractable 65 hides a surprising amount of utility inside a casing that resembles a miniature record player. Not only do you get the coiling 2.3-foot USB-C cable, but it also has a second USB-C port for charging two devices simultaneously. It’ll smartly split charging capacity between the two, but when using a single cable, the maximum 65W charging speed is a sweet spot for most laptops and tablets. It’s also more than sufficient for most smartphones, cameras, handhelds, and other smaller devices.

  • You can preorder the standard edition of Doom: The Dark Ages on PC for $58.79 (about $11 off) at Fanatical. You can also get the premium edition for $83.99 ($16 off). The latest Doom title, due May 15th, is a prequel to both the original 2016 reboot and the gory follow-up Doom: Eternal. The timeline jump between these games is rather large and wild. The Dark Ages transports us from the hell-opening portals being developed in alien research labs on Mars to medieval-era environments filled with dragons and kaiju — for which you’re given a mech suit to battle. Naturally, that gun-deficient period inspired iD Software to further expand on the series’ excellent melee combat with a range of new weapons, including iron flails and a spiked mace.
  • Sennheiser’s Momentum Sport earbuds in their olive color are down to $149.95 ($180 off) at Amazon and B&H Photo, which is an all-time low price. Unlike most sporty earbuds that emphasize waterproofing and a secure fit, the Momentum Sport integrate temperature sensors and optical heart rate monitors. We’re still unsure whether the former is actually useful for most people, but the latter is well-implemented and gets within earshot of readings from accurate chest monitors like Garmin’s HRM-Fit. You can even sync your data with the Polar Flow training app or the Polar Vantage V3 watch, further positioning it as a serious asset for fitness buffs. Oh, and the earbuds sound pretty good for music playback, too. Read our review.
  • A single Google Nest WiFi Pro in its fog green color is down to $119.99 ($80 off) at Amazon, which is its lowest price to date. The Wi-Fi 6E mesh router offers faster speeds and improved network stability compared to older Wi-Fi 6 models. It can cover up to 2,200 square feet, and you can easily add more nodes to cover bigger homes. We like its easy setup process and integrated Thread and Matter connectivity, though its lack of Google Assistant and 10-gigabit ethernet ports might be a damper for some. Read our review.

Here’s where you can try to buy an Nvidia RTX 5080 or 5090

30 January 2025 at 13:32
Believe it or not, the RTX 5090 isn’t much bigger than the pictured RTX 5080.

While Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics cards weren’t the zaniest devices at CES 2025, they stole the show with their promised groundbreaking performance breakthroughs. The RTX 5070, in particular, made headlines as a card that can supposedly rival an RTX 4090 for just $549. We later learned it uses DLSS 4’s AI-powered multi frame generation to achieve that in supported titles, but that’s a welcome compromise for those who can’t find room in their budget for the beefier 4K-ready GPUs — including the $999.99 RTX 5080 and the $1,999.99 RTX 5090.

Those premium cards are capable of greater raw performance, however. In our RTX 5080 review, we found it’s only about 15 percent faster than the RTX 4080 it’s replacing. Meanwhile, the benchmarks we ran for our RTX 5090 review averaged 28 percent better frame rates compared to the RTX 4090 for 4K games running at their highest settings with no frame generation help. That’s still impressive given the Founder’s Edition is considerably smaller than the 4090, so much so it will fit inside a small form factor PC case. No matter which you’re after, you’ll be exceedingly satisfied if you’re upgrading from an RTX 30-series card or older.

Nvidia’s forewarned scarcity that soured past GPU launches struck as predicted, with pretty much all of the early 5080 and 5090 stock being claimed within 10 minutes of dropping. There’s no telling what type of cadence we’ll see for stock replenishments from here on out, but if you let us guide you on where to try purchasing one online, there’s still hope you’ll secure one soon (or, at least, sometime this year).

Use a hardwired computer

If you’re lucky enough to stumble across a buy opportunity, it’s typically faster to use a desktop or a laptop to click around and input whatever information you need. If you can, use a computer with an ethernet connection to ensure nothing interferes with your network. Bonus points if you use an ultrawide or multiple monitors to view several browser windows at once.

Keep your smartphone and tablet handy

Some retailers may implement a wait queue. You can use your smartphone, tablet, or another secondary device to try and get a faster queue time. It can also serve as a failsafe between refreshes if one of the sites slows to a crawl on your desktop. That said, your smartphone should only be a last result to using a PC, as you don’t want to waste time juggling multiple tabs and apps or tapping away at tiny input fields.

Create accounts at every retailer

The last thing you’ll want to be doing when new stock arrives is fiddling with passwords and a deluge of confirmation emails. Make sure you have an account with each retailer that’s carrying the graphics cards.

Add payment and shipping info in advance

If possible, you’ll also want to add your shipping and billing details in advance. This way, you’ll only have to worry about adding the GPU to your cart and completing the final checkout steps.

Sign up for stock notifications

Best Buy and B&H Photo allow you to sign up to be notified when the GPUs become available. B&H Photo actually requires you to sign up in advance if you want to order one. Be sure to sign up for alerts on each variant of the 5080 or 5090 that you’re planning to buy.

Check the websites early and often

You shouldn’t rely solely on email notifications for stock alerts, as they’re often delayed and you risk missing your chance. Be sure to load up tabs for each retailer and give them a quick each day, and then practice hitting that refresh button as fast as humanely possible.

Use social media to your advantage

Social media can be a great way to get an early scoop on anticipated restocks. Follow Nvidia and join its forums, and do the same for each retailer’s social media accounts in anticipation of potential stock alerts. It’s also a good idea to follow reputable deal hunters like Wario64.

Where to preorder the Nvidia RTX 5080 and RTX 5090

As of writing, Best Buy is the only third-party retailer with listings for the Founders Editions of the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. Nvidia will sell them, too, but we never even saw its listings appear. That said, there are multiple options from a variety of manufacturers across all retailers, including MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac, and more. They’ll cost a bit more than the Founder’s Edition and don’t have the size advantages in most cases, however.

Best Buy

Best Buy is the only retailer listing the Founders Edition versions of the Nvidia RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. It’s also selling several third-party cards; however, the big box retailer is completely out of stock as of writing.

Eventually, a range of laptops and pre-built desktop PCs using the GPUs will become available. One telling sign that Best Buy might be preparing a restock is the option to be notified about new arrivals, but none of its listings have such an option as of now. You’ll want to be proactive and keep checking the site listings each day.

Purchasing a 50-series graphics card from Best Buy does require you to create an account. If you’re lucky enough to add one to your cart, you’ll be added to a queue while the system verifies your account and confirms your unit. If successful, you’ll have 10 minutes to complete the checkout process.

Newegg

Newegg currently lists a comprehensive selection of third-party 50-series graphics cards, though all are out of stock as of writing. That being said, you can still purchase some prebuilt desktop PCs with RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 cards, with some showing shipping estimates ranging from early to late February.

There are multiple listings for customized versions of both the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 from third-party OEMs such as MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, and more. Some come factory overclocked, and most have unique shroud designs with three cooling fans — including a few with integrated liquid cooling. Many of them are much bigger than the Founder’s Edition cards, but Gigabyte has some compact options. You’ll want to make note of their dimensions and plan your build accordingly.

B&H Photo

B&H Photo is also listing a number of those third-party RTX 5080 and 5090 cards starting at $999.99 and $1,999.99, respectively. It’s also selling prebuilt desktops. The retailer requires you to join a waitlist, however, and purchase opportunities will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis exclusively for those who sign up to receive the stock alerts. It’s worth noting that B&H Photo once showed February availability for some cards, so you’ll want to sign up for any that you might be interested in and keep a close watch on your inbox over the weeks to come.

Micro Center

Micro Center has confirmed that its initial run of RTX 50-series cards will only be available at physical retail locations, and that it will only sell third-party models. Stores opened at 9AM ET nationwide on launch day but quickly sold out.

Micro Center says it’s planning regular restocks. You can check online listings here to see if your local store happens to have any in stock. Even if they’re showing as sold out, it may be worth calling your local store to confirm. The retailer is currently limiting purchases to one unit per customer.

Nvidia

Nvidia also said it would sell Founders Edition cards directly through its online store, but neither the RTX 5080 nor the RTX 5090 were available as of writing. You will find a number of third-party cards listed there, but most will redirect you to authorized retailers like Newegg and Micro Center. You’ll need to keep checking back for the latest stock updates, as there’s no way to sign up for notifications.

Amazon and other retailers

Amazon and Adorama have historically carried the newest GPUs at or close to launch, though neither has individual GPU listings as of writing. Adorama currently lists a number of prebuilt desktops with RTX 5090 cards; however, none are currently available for purchase.

Update, January 30th: Updated to reflect current availability for the RTX 50-series cards at several retailers.

You can get an Apple Watch Series 10 for its lowest price yet

With a redesigned casing, a bigger display, and faster charging, the Apple Watch Series 10 is a fantastic upgrade opportunity for anyone who, like me, is more than a few iterations behind. If you’re in the same boat, you might consider jumping on a deal from Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart that takes the 42mm version of the smartwatch down to $329 ($70 off), which matches the record low from Black Friday.

The 46mm Series 10 is also on sale for $359 ($70 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, which is also its best price to date.

The Apple Watch Series 10’s wide-angle displays are only one millimeter bigger than their Series 9 counterparts, but it’s a noticeable difference. The displays are also 40 percent brighter, while the overall package is a hair thinner. The Series 10 still doesn’t last more than a day as it doesn’t have the Ultra’s battery gains, but it won’t spend as much time on a MagSafe charger as it can get up to 80 percent capacity in 30 minutes.

For tracking your fitness and wellness, the Apple Watch Series 10 can do far more than count your daily steps and close your activity rings. It has optical and ECG heart rate monitors that can check your ticker and track your sleeping, including the ability to detect sleep apnea. It also has a temperature sensor for tracking cycles and other vital metrics, plus water temperature and depth sensors to help with aquatic workouts in shallower waters. It’s not fully waterproof, however, so you’ll want an Ultra if you’re plunging deeper.

  • You can get a pair of Nothing Ear (a) earbuds for $79 at Amazon, which is only $10 more than the all-time low. The noise-canceling earbuds are our favorite pair for under $100, with surprisingly good sound for the price. They also offer an impressive feature set that includes multipoint Bluetooth pairing, a decent IP54 dust and water resistance rating, and even a low-latency mode for gaming. They’re also partially translucent, which is a fun look for anyone fond of microengineering. Read our hands-on impressions.
  • You’d normally pay a hefty ransom for the 34-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, which is a fantastic 21:9 WQHD curved gaming monitor with a 175Hz variable refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and a .03ms response time. That said, now through the end of today, you can get it from eBay for just $639.20 (about $561 off) with code SAVEBIG20. You can choose between Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and two Micro HDMI 2.1 ports for video input. The rear also has a pair of USB ports for peripherals, plus a dynamic RGB light ring that can sync with your games. The monitor has several burn-in protections, including one that automatically detects and lowers the local brightness of static elements. It also has a built-in smart TV platform that supports game streaming and smart home control.
