Super Bowl Sundays are really noisy everywhere in the US – Apple Watch study

You don’t have to be in the Super Bowl stadium to be exposed to a lot of noise during the game. A new Apple Watch study found that noise levels across America are significantly higher than normal for about nine hours on Super Bowl Sundays.

On average, across the US, you’re likely to be exposed to noise levels between 1.5 and 3 decibels higher than usual – which is a lot worse than it sounds when it comes to potential hearing damage

Satellite video calls coming to Europe and US, starting this year

Satellite video calls will be coming to Europe from later this year, following a successful demo of the tech by Vodafone in partnership with AST SpaceMobile. Rollout in the US through AT&T will follow some time later.

Apple accused of outsourcing ‘unethical practices’ to other companies for AI profit

Apple may face new shareholder scrutiny over its AI practices following a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The document was filed ahead of Apple’s next Annual Shareholder Meeting that’s scheduled for February 25 at 8 a.m. PT.

The National Legal and Policy Center has submitted a proposal urging Apple to disclose how it acquires and uses external data for AI training. The filing, disclosed on the SEC’s website, highlights potential legal risks tied to data privacy and intellectual property rights. That’s despite Apple’s brand alignment with privacy-centric policies.

MLS Season Pass announces free promos with T-Mobile and Comcast, new Sunday night games

Apple today unveiled its plans for the upcoming 2025 Major League Soccer season, through its MLS Season Pass service. The subscription provides worldwide unrestricted access to all MLS games, with no blackouts. The 2025 season officially kicks off on February 22, but you can subscribe now to see preseason games including LAFC vs Liga MX on February 11, and Inter Miami vs Orlando City on February 14.

This season, there’s a new featured game fixture on Sunday nights branded as ‘Sunday Night Soccer’. Sunday Night Soccer games will also be available to stream for free for all Apple TV+ subscribers.
