TikTok is back online in the United States

After being offline in the United States for 14 hours, TikTok now says it is in the process of restoring service. In a statement posted to social media, the company said:

In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.

It’s a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.

Report: ‘Little to no’ iPhone SE inventory remaining in Apple Stores

According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, supply of the current generation iPhone SE, which debuted in 2022, is quickly shrinking. This is unsurprising, given the fact that we’re all expecting a new iPhone SE to debut in just a couple months. However, it is uniquely interesting, as it indicates that Apple likely has no plans to keep the current generation model around.

Gurman: Redesigned Apple Mail app coming to macOS in April

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s new Mail app is going to make its way to the Mac very soon, with macOS 15.4. Apple introduced the new Mail app to the iPhone back in December with iOS 18.2, but it hasn’t made its way to any other platform since.

Apple says it is ‘obligated to follow the laws’ in response to TikTok ban

Last night, TikTok officially went dark in the United States. In addition to TikTok itself going offline, Apple also removed the app from the App Store.

Apple has now addressed the TikTok ban for the first time, saying it is “obligated to follow the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates.”

TikTok has officially shut down in the United States

In a new notification sent to users, TIkTok has confirmed it is shutting down in the United States. The company says it is “working to restore” its service in the U.S. “as soon as possible” with the help of incoming President Trump.

Apple has also removed TikTok from the App Store in the United States. Google has removed the app from the Play Store.

CapCut, the popular video editing app owned by ByteDance, is also now offline in the United States and has been removed from the App Store.
